Richard Rosenow is one of my favorite leaders in People Analytics. Not only is he incredibly knowledgeable about the field, he is also unbelievably kind and supportive of others in this space. I had the pleasure of finally meeting Richard in person last year when I was on the Northwestern University's TALREOS panel with him, Stephanie Murphy, Ph.D., Catherine Coppinger, and Jennifer Kurkoski, Ph.D. Since then I have made it a point of staying in regular touch with him, and just recently Maddie Grant, Guille Santana and I had the great pleasure of hosting him on our podcast, Empowering Workplaces. Richard has an impressively thorough and diverse knowledge of People Analytics, and I really enjoyed his thought leadership on considering different inputs to really, fully understand your employee experience. Whether you are newer to the field, or an experienced pro, I know you will learn something from our conversation. Richard and I know many of the same people so I hope this post grab’s many of your attention, I will name just a few who I have had specific employee listening conversations recently so you can bookmark this episode and have a listen: Eric Ortega, Laura Quintero Bolaños, Kaitlyn Orwig, Andrea O'Leary, Ph.D., Julie Rodda, PhD, Al Adamsen, Dan Riley, Leonidas Guadalupe, Ph.D., Serena H. Professor, author, and speaker on the power of corporate culture and communication || Culture Management || Brand Strategy || Podcast Host
💭 🤔 What do you think it takes to be a purpose-driven organization? Is it in the company’s leadership? Employee culture? What about your clientele? If you thought all of the above, congrats! You’ve passed the test. But the real question is, how are you bringing these concepts to life? When we come up with a company purpose, it has to be more than something posted to the website or an appealing idea. Writing this statement has to come from a genuine place. One inspired by the day-to-day activities of the organization and the people that keep it afloat. Our purpose and culture should go hand in hand, allowing people inside and outside the company to know what to expect when connecting with the organization. Think back to the earliest days of your company. Why was it founded and what difference was it trying to make? What makes it unique? These foundational principles are your company’s reason for existing and should not be taken lightly. Use your purpose as motivation - remind your community that their work is meaningful and intentional. Next week on Great Mondays Radio, I sit down with Colleen Murray, who discusses tools for bringing your organization’s purpose to life. It’s one you won’t want to miss! 1moNumber one... keep your customer service in Michigan. Keep your customer service local to elevate people in our cities. Give our people jobs to elevate other local companies. Third party call centers are killing your business in the long run. Paying them less is getting less.
