I PLEDGE my HEAD to clearer thinking, my HEART to greater loyalty, my HANDS to larger service, and my HEALTH to better living, for my family, my club, my community, my country and my world. This is the 4-H Pledge that youth and adults recite at the opening of each meeting. In the spirit of that pledge to clearer thinking, we ask “is there a future for 4-H in Sherburne County?” Last summer, the 4-H horse project funded and painted the barns to freshen them up for fair. Imagine the disappointment as everything the kids worked to prepare for was deluged with rain through the failing roofs on the horse barns as several waves of extreme weather occurred during fair week. The normal flurry of excitement was replaced with an all-out scramble to shift horses to higher ground and wait out the storm while also scrambling to save thousands of dollars’ worth of hay, feed, show clothes, tack and equipment. This is one of many issues that need to be addressed to deal with aging infrastructure and the future of the county fairgrounds. The county has indicated at various times the desire to sell and redevelop the property the fairground occupies. That constant fear of being evicted from the fairgrounds has not served the best interests of the youth or the community at large. Sherburne County businesses and residents are overwhelmingly supportive of 4-H programming when made aware of needs and how they can help. But who will invest in updating and improving the aging infrastructure of a fairgrounds under constant threat of eviction and redevelopment of the property? If the long-range plan is to relocate the fairgrounds, then please, let us begin the dialogue to plan out a timeline and details for beginning that endeavor. We need to at least work together to solve the immediate issues to serve our youth of today as well as plan for the future of our youth. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Please, let us not fail our youth any longer. ~ Families of Sherburne County 4-H Note: this letter was sent to all Sherburne County commissioners. The purpose of this post is to raise awareness of safety issues at the Sherburne County fairgrounds. The video captures the July 22, 2023 storm at the county fair and a failing roof leaking into one of the tack/hay stalls. #safety #4H #fair #itsforthekids #horses Please contact your Sherburne County representative and let them know action is needed https://lnkd.in/gcwtPM3J

FREE LINKEDIN® TRAINING for BUSINESS OWNERS & TEAMS - more CUSTOMERS, better SUPPLIERS & COLLABORATORS - Social Selling (no pitching or cold calling!) LinkedIn Trainer & Content Writer #TʜᴇHᴀᴘᴘʏCᴏɴɴᴇᴄᴛᴏʀ! 😊
Hey, Gang - here's a little LINKEDIN LUNACY for a rainy Thursday ... HARD TIMES AT MICROSOFT? Allen Ruddock told yesterday's LinkedInLocal Guildford crowd about features LinkedIn is 'retiring - probably as part of a cunning plan to 'encourage' free users to upgrade to a Premium account (Boo!) THIS TIME, IT'S PERSONAL... Today I've been inviting fellow attendees to Connect on LinkedIn (that's the idea, right?) with a personal note for politeness (and as a handy record of where and when we met). I often get a cheery Reply when people Accept, which ovewhelmingly they do (Huzzah!) SHOW ME THE MONEY! I just got this creepy Message from LinkedIn: "No free personalized invitations left. Free personalized invites will renew next month. With Premium, you can personalize all of your connection requests. Cancel anytime, for any reason. Reactivate Premium" My reaction? 'Go forth and multiply' - and try to understand how real, warm human beings prefer to interact, and that taking things away from users is really not the best way to build brand loyalty (Sigh!) 🙀 This 'innovation' (limiting personlised invites to around 10 per month for free accounts) was mooted some weeks ago and vociferously objected to by the LinkedIn Nerdiverse (including yours truly), after which they claimed to have shelved the idea. Clearly, they lied! #LinkedInOwnGoal

Let me set your expectations for chasing your dream part 1 and chasing your dream part 2. I'm going to use a set of golf clubs as an example. To Define the difference between chasing your dream1 and chasing your dream 2.This will give you a clear understanding of the master plan of both of these meetings. If I gave you Tiger woods' golf clubs and said let's play. you would still be at a huge disadvantage you do not have the understanding or the skills how to use his clubs. In dream 1 I will give you the instructions on how to use the clubs / skills needed. I will go over the soft skills needed to play with the take charge seniors of today. And In dream 2 we will go over the hard skills needed to be a part of the new generation of seniors. the understanding of both part 1 and part 2 will give you the opportunity to take that dream off the back burner and put it on the front burner.Yes the new breed of seniors went back to school. And are up for the challenge. Center well senior Primary Care Community engagement professional. Whitney Vadenbodevr, has put this meeting together and made it possible. Whitney is on The Cutting Edge of the needs of the take charge generation. And is involved with seniors on a daily basis. working with centerwell senior Primary Care keeping seniors plugged in to their to their dreams. # the take charge generation.

Rediscovering Connection & Discovering Ourselves After the Pandemic. As we emerge from the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, our journey toward reconnection can be enhanced through meaningful human bonds, especially for those historically marginalized by society. Golf not only provides a platform for shared experiences and mutual support, but using the game as a method of networking and building community after COVID offers us a unique opportunity to celebrate the richness of diverse perspectives as we play and talk about the game. Like the etiquette of golf that encourages authenticity and camaraderie, building our online golf community calls for a similar commitment to inclusivity, understanding, honesty, and the celebration of differences. When the No Bunkers No Bogeys Co-Founders first thought of creating No Bunk, their priority was on building something sustainable and a platform that was agile enough to meet the diverse needs of its members-both now and in the future. Our collective journey is not just about reconnecting and rebuilding social networks for the sake of it; it's about creating a space where everyone's narrative is valued, where we cheer on each other's successes, and where the strength of our shared experiences propels us forward. No Bunk represents an energetic step forward as we continue to put the acute period of the pandemic behind us and reclaim both our lives and the game of golf-come be a part of building something that can only be built by the collective will and desire of a motivated, enthusiastic, and compassionate community. Come Hang With Us. -The No Bunk Team

Empowering Veterans Through Therapeutic and Adaptive Golf | Advocate for Mental Health and Disability Programs | Championing Accessibility & Inclusion | Public Speaker | Survivor | Non-Profit Trail Wanderer
Today, I received feedback suggesting that my tenure of 9 months in the golf business might limit my understanding of its intricacies, undervalue the significance of relationships, and recommend a more reserved approach. As someone relatively new to the golf business but seasoned in managing people for over 15 years, I've come to realize the importance of understanding the intricacies of the industry, the significance of fostering strong relationships, and the necessity of being open to change. This journey has taught me that if I am unable to advocate for myself, I am ill-equipped to represent others effectively. The times we live in call for constant evolution and adaptation. The golf industry, like any other, must evolve with these changes to remain relevant and effective. As a soldier, I was taught to adapt or perish. How can green grass facilities hope to become more inclusive if they are unwilling to embrace change? Inclusivity is not just about making room for everyone; it's about creating an environment where everyone feels valued and heard. This principle applies to the golf industry as much as it does to any other field. We need to ensure that our practices and procedures are accessible and beneficial to all, regardless of their background or capabilities. Just as children benefit from safe and accessible green spaces, so too do individuals in the golf industry. These spaces offer numerous mental, physical, and social developmental benefits and encourage growth into responsible citizens. When these spaces are equally accessible, they help to reduce health inequities suffered by socio-economically disadvantaged individuals. To achieve this level of inclusivity, we must be willing to adapt and change. We must be open to feedback and ready to make necessary adjustments. We must prioritize the welfare of all members of our community and strive to create an environment where everyone feels welcome and valued. I believe that by doing so, we can not only improve the golf industry but also contribute to a more equitable society. After all, as soldiers, we were taught that survival depends on unity and solidarity. The same principle applies to the golf industry. We must stand together, support each other, and work towards common goals to ensure our success and the success of the industry as a whole. #motivation #mondaymotivation #ptsdawareness #mentalhealthawareness #veterans #deib #change #golf #pga #growthegame
