In his proclamation for National Public Health Week, President Joe Biden said, “During National Public Health Week, we celebrate the life-saving care of public health professionals who work tirelessly to promote our country’s health, safety, and well-being. We recognize that the healthier Americans are as individuals, the stronger we are as a Nation.” Read the entire proclamation: https://lnkd.in/efg6WtyG   Take part in tons of exciting events hosted by APHA and others around the country: NPHW.org/Events

And you don’t even bother to address the Menthol cigarette ban you delayed from August to March and still remains to be enacted? Follow the science as you have promised your administration would. “Don’t ask what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country.” Is something you should consider, instead of vote tallying.

Recognizing Public Health for 7 days is unfortunately not doing much. Workplaces aren’t doing anything special to recognize public health staff. Student Loans are not being forgiven and public health salaries are not being increased. So thanks for the finger tap on the shoulder but there is much more that can be done.

Public health is SO important in the United States which is why many foods/ ingredients sold here are banned or seriously regulated in other countries…? Get real. If you want to address public health, address our FOOD, WATER QUALITY, and ENVIRONMENT! Otherwise, these are just pretty words which unfortunately do absolutely nothing for the general public. America loves to make its people sick & sell us a “cure.”

“There is absolutely no reason to further delay a policy that the FDA has studied for more than 12 years, is supported by overwhelming scientific evidence, and will save hundreds of thousands of lives,” said Yolonda Richardson, president and CEO of the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids.
