Artificial Intelligence (AI) development is a scary thought for many people, but in some sectors, it's saving lives. We were proud to develop the branding for the AI-4-NICU project, which will create a pan-European multidisciplinary network with the clinical and technical expertise required to use AI-enabled decision-support tools in the neonatal intensive care unit. Five in every 1000 babies born each year have a condition linked to brain injury - this technology will help diagnose brain injury faster, allowing for targeted neuroprotective strategies. We look forward to seeing the strides made in this sector and the impact it will have. #AI #futurebydesign

Here comes Healthcare 3.0 with Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCI). Science fiction becoming a healthcare reality. "(The) development of more accurate, reliable, and real-time BCIs, might have a major impact on the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders and the development of new and innovative applications. "They facilitate communication with machines, restore lost functions, and enhance cognitive abilities. BCIs hold immense potential in cognitive health, including memory enhancement and cognitive disorder prevention," writes Dr. Mehmet Yildiz. Dementia, spine and head injuries, cognitive and neurological disorders, epilepsy and other conditions are being addressed. So too are other applications such as gaming, entertainment and controlling electronics with your thoughts. Yildiz goes into great detail about the potential uses as well as the challenges and ethical questions in this article. It's truly the amalgamation of futuristic human sci-fi.
