Introducing Evan Scoresby, our only RV Service Technician intern for the summer! “I’ve always loved to build and work with my hands. Working as a technician for Bish’s RV gives me the opportunity to do that. The great part is that with every RV or job I work on I learn something new. Sometimes I work on plumbing or electricity. And sometimes it’s repairing a roof. Every day is new and different. The service technicians have been great to work with and have been willing to teach me many things. I really enjoy learning how to diagnose problems and going through the steps to figure what needs fixed. In the future I look forward to working more with electrical systems and plumbing. It’s really cool because RVs are really just small houses on wheels. So sometimes you are fixing bathrooms and sometimes you are fixing the trailer axles." #InternsOnFire #RVIndustry #RV #Interns #whoruntheworld

Student at Union High School Welder from pipe fence to bigger projects like feed lots and horse and cattle pens
10 things I learned interning at A&C 1. I learned to respect other peoples thing and belongings and to treat them as your own and take good care of them. 2. Learned how to give and receive respect from other people. That helps in all aspects of life to treat one another as you want to be treated. 3. Learned how to get the flow of the job and keep that flow going. I learned how to work with a slope and make things square, level, and straight. 4. Learned how to weld overhead a lot better than I originally did. They taught me how to keep my puddle going and how it changes throughout the pipe. 5. Learned all the angles on different things. Different angles change the way your puddle flows and how well it welds. 6. Learned that prep is a very important thing. If you have your metal prepped and ready to go it will go so much smoother throughout your prodject. 7. Learned on caps and thinner metal needs different things. Temp is a really big part of welding and with time you begin to get the hang of what temp you need to run. Rod is another big part. Different rods do different things and can be ran at different angles. 8. Learned how to cut rails and joints of pipe way better from interning there. All the angles and how fast you cut will decide on how clean your cuts are going to be. 9. I learned how to hang and build gates at A&C. Gates require certain things, to be square and built solid and lightweight. The latches depend on who your doing them for they may want horseshoe latch’s or something different. 10. Rhett and Cody have taught me a lot about welding. They’ve taught me so much about all of that line of work. They are 2 really talented and smart people. Very grateful to be able to have that opportunity.

Today, I successfully replaced the faulty #brake of a trolley electric motor in an RTG. Tackled the challenge with my team member, Caleb Benson, ensuring safety and efficiency in every detail. The trolley motor brakes on a Rubber Tyred Gantry (RTG) are responsible for stopping, slowing down, and controlling the movement of the trolley. They contribute to the precision required during container handling operations. They enable the operator to bring the trolley to a halt or control its speed, preventing accidents, collisions, and ensuring the safety of personnel and cargo. In emergency situations, reliable trolley motor brakes are essential for prompt emergency stops to prevent accidents or mitigate potential hazards. A faulty trolley motor brake in an RTG not only compromises safety but also has cascading effects on control, load handling, equipment durability, and operational efficiency. It is crucial to address brake issues promptly through regular maintenance and timely replacement of worn-out components to maintain safety standards and ensure optimal functioning of the RTG. #brakes #RTG #mechanical #maintenanceexcellence #Internship #TICT

𝙈𝙚𝙚𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙢, 𝙢𝙚𝙚𝙩 𝙏𝙝𝙤𝙢𝙖𝙨 In 2018, Thomas Kolp started as a Technical Engineer in the workshop of Royal Brinkman. Let's have a chat with him. 𝙏𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝙢𝙚, 𝙬𝙝𝙤 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪? My name is Thomas Kolp. In 2018, I started at Royal Brinkman Technical Projects. I began with my MBO 2 education 'Installer of Electrotechnical Installations'. I worked four days a week and went to school one day. I still do that, now to obtain my MBO 4 diploma as a 'Technician'. 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙖 𝙩𝙮𝙥𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙍𝙤𝙮𝙖𝙡 𝘽𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙠𝙢𝙖𝙣 𝙙𝙖𝙮 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙮𝙤𝙪? The work is very diverse. One moment I am working on assembling water units, the next moment I am loading trucks or containers for projects. 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙬𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙙𝙚𝙨𝙘𝙧𝙞𝙗𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙧𝙤𝙡𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙢? Together with my colleagues Jan, Marcel, and Arek, I am responsible for all activities in the workshop. Here we assemble and test water units, process orders, and prepare transports. 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙬𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙜𝙪𝙚𝙨 𝙙𝙚𝙨𝙘𝙧𝙞𝙗𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪? Colleagues always find me cheerful and helpful. And I'm always ready to assist my colleagues. 𝙒𝙝𝙮 𝙙𝙞𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙠𝙚𝙩? As a side job, I used to work in a greenhouse that had a very old unit from Royal Brinkman. In high school, I had two internships at Royal Brinkman and I really liked it. That's why I made the choice to work in this market. 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙙𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙟𝙤𝙗? Building the technical water units myself is fantastic! Every customer has different preferences, so every water unit is unique. I enjoy the variety. It's also great that I can combine work with school in this way. Going to school every day isn't for me; I prefer being at work. 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙛𝙖𝙫𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙚 𝙫𝙚𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙛𝙧𝙪𝙞𝙩? My favorite vegetable is the delicious Westland cauliflower, and for fruit, it's the Westland strawberry. 🍓 𝘿𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙜𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛? Absolutely not. I find it difficult enough to water two plants every week. 🌱 #meettheteam #royalbrinkman #team

I completed 1st week of my Internship at Banaras Locomotive Work (BLW), in Loco Test Shop (not part of my alloted workshop). All team members, staff, and workers were quite supportive and helpful. About Loco Test Shop:- This shop testing procedure is conducted for Locomotive before being dispatched to the customers. Testing of locomotive involves mechanical & electrical equipment load test, air brake test, electrical track test, Shower Test, RRT (Rode Run Test), etc. Air Brake Test : Nowadays locomotive braking systems are pneumatic in nature i.e., compressed air is used for obtaining brake application. In the Air Brake system compressed air is used for opening the brake system. The locomotive compressor charges the feed pipe and the brake pipes throughout the length of the train. The feed pipe is connected to the auxiliary reservoir and the brake pipe is connected to the brake cylinder through the distributor valve Pantograph balancing test : A mechanical test called the pantograph balancing test is used to make sure that the pantograph mechanism on locomotives or electricity trains is aligned and balanced properly. These exams are essential for preserving trustworthy communication. During the balancing test, the pantograph is subjected to different positions and loads to evaluate its performance and make any necessary modifications between the pantograph and overhead wire, optimizing power collection, and minimizing wear and tear. Shower Test:- The tightness of the locomotive in terms of waterproofing is an important factor that has a specific impact on the performance of the locomotive in several conditions such as during the rainy season. A shower test typically refers to a test conducted on a locomotive to check its water tightness and assess any potential leaks. This test is undertaken to detect leakages around windows, doors, cabins, covers, etc. In this method, a shower facility is designed
