The Submerged Lands Act of 1953 (SLA) led to the passage of the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act of 1953 (OCSLA), which defines BSEE jurisdiction & regulatory responsibility on federal offshore lands. Both SLA & OCSLA affirm the federal claim to the lands of the Outer Continental Shelf, which consists of those submerged lands seaward of state jurisdiction. #reliabilty #protection #people #sustainability
