Really great insight into how different monitoring modes of total organic carbon analyzers can offer much more than just TOC.
When monitoring organics in water, there are different acronyms used for the different monitoring modes. Want to understand these modes in simple terms and which one is best for your process? For instance, TC mode stands for Total Carbon and is best used if you do not need to differentiate between organic and inorganic carbon, do not want to pretreat samples, and only need trending information. Check out this blog post to learn more about the different monitoring modes and their best applications! https://bit.ly/3sYPErV #TotalOrganicCarbon #WaterMonitoring #WaterQuality

At a talk on ESG at IPPE 2024, Mike Gauss, president at Kent Nutrition Group (KNG), provided examples of actionable strategies on how companies can utilize current values and business practices as a guide when developing sustainability metrics. He also highlighted KNG's environmental achievements, including a 93% reduction in air emissions since 2014 and a 90% reduction in landfill materials since 2015. In its corn wet milling plants, effluent discharge into rivers and waterways has been reduced by 43%. The company has also invested in solar fields and has undertaken strategic measures in transportation, substantially decreasing truck shipments while increasing reliance on rail and barge freight. https://bit.ly/4bBuT72 #esg #ippe #solarenergy #effluent #landfill #barge #emissions

🍞 Does ethanol compete with food production? No, EU #ethanol biorefineries produce more food and protein-rich animal feed than they do fuel – strengthening our food systems and reducing dependence on imports. Find out more about the role of biorefineries in shaping a better future and what this means for Europe 👇

Attached, our latest article discussing and highlighting soil's carbon. Here we are broadly looking at the two main forms of tests for analysing carbon in samples, 'wet digestion' and 'dry combustion'. Highlighting why 'dry combustion' methods are becoming the standard. We also mention loss-on-ignition, which whilst historically the most used method for wide scale carbon assessment, fails in a number of key categories. Something to bear in mind when considering your #SFI organic matter plans. #soilcarbon #soilhealth #regenerativefarming

What are VOCs? VOCs or (Volatile Organic Compounds) are gas-emitted compounds that make up a large portion of reactive chemical species in the atmosphere. While they are key components in air quality and climate change, they are also known for their adverse short-term and long-term health effects. In our canister lab analysis, we measure 52 different VOCs including methane, ethane, and BTEX compounds. While we monitor VOC emissions from oil and gas production facilities, VOCs can also emit as a byproduct of some common household products including paints, aerosol sprays, hobby supplies, pesticides, etc… Learn more below about VOCs and steps you can take to reduce exposure! https://lnkd.in/eV6xS3W #Colorado #airquality #oilandgas #emissions #epa #scienceandenvironment #indoorairquality
