PANORAMIC is celebrating its two-year anniversary since opening to recruitment on 8th December 2021! What is well-being and what does thriving mean? You can think about the phenomena in many different ways but the impact of not thriving is very real for too many individuals, the people around them and the society in general. In DDC – Danish Design Center we believe the increasing poor well-being is a systemic problem. Reproducing and replicating the traditional ways of treating people’s symptoms when they are bad enough to qualify for a diagnosis is not sustainable or desirable. We need to think differently and explore alternative ways to intervene. This week, together with Tatsuya Honda, Ryota Imamura and my two brilliant colleagues Sara Gry Striegler and Oskar Stokholm Østergaard we are exploring how the psychosocial mechanisms of music might work as inspiration to think differently about how to promote well-being in Kawasaki City in 2035. I can’t believe how much we have learned and how bright, energetic and kind all the workshop participants have been. I can only dream about coming back and continuing the collaboration.
