Curious communicator helping my clients drive + adapt to change.

The most successful leaders, communicators, and marketers are all great at one thing: asking good questions. This new Harvard Business Review article by Arnaud Chevallier, Frédéric Dalsace, and Jean-Louis Barsoux is a must-read for anyone interested in the art and science of asking smarter questions. See link in 1st comment. As a career communicator and co-CEO, I spend a lot of my day asking my teams and clients questions. Asking smart questions, conditions teams to zoom in on the right problem and solution. It's also a crucial aspect of influencing people to see something in a different light and pivot when necessary. We do this daily with our clients at Mission North. I solicited my senior team for their favorite questions. Thank you Tyler Perry (she/her), Shannon Hutto, Meghan Gardner, and Nabeelah Khan for sharing. Here are a few of our favorites: What haven't I asked that you think I should? What problem are we trying to solve? Why do we need to solve this now?     How will we measure success? Could we do this differently? Is this a top priority? What next? #communication #leadership

Love this! Aligns with my core beliefs as well. Better questions = better comms.

And within this amazing group of leaders, there is a subset who stand out, even apart from those who can ask a game-changing question. And these are the ones who LISTEN to the answer to their question from a place of curiosity — without forming an opinion or a response to what is being said. Great questions beget more great questions, until the answers are revealed.

Love this. One of my fave books is all about the 5 questions you can use in almost any conversation to gain deeper understanding or better alignment.

I love all these and I'd add another favorite: what would happen if (business/product/service) didn't exist?

Bill, I couldn't agree more! Asking the right questions is vital—it helps pinpoint the core issues and solutions, a strategy we also use in customer service to enhance user satisfaction and retention. How do you ensure your team continuously improves their questioning techniques?

Thanks for sharing Bill Bourdon Asking the right (powerful) questions is such an under-rated communications and leadership skill. It allows you to explore and create even better solutions and outcomes.
