The JDRF One Walk will be taking place in May and brings Type 1 diabetics + their family & friends together to celebrate and share in community together. Community impact? The primary impact of this firms business model increases homelessness (currently at 10K+ homeless people on any given night) by gentrifying neighborhoods and forcing people who make less money out. "Global day for people and planet" yet the firm musters up 2 small bins of mostly dog and cat food...this doesn't even align. How about taking on projects that actually help to reduce the number of homeless people in the city instead of ones that are for the affluent population and for corporations to profit from. I hope other architecture studios in Toronto can learn from these fake displays of positive community impact. Many studios like this promote themselves as doing good but really at a foundational socio-economic level, they drive some of the biggest problems in the city. #thinkcritically #communityimpact #torontohomeless

Crisis, such as the tragic fires in and around Ruidoso, reveal the character of people and businesses. Such as the extreme leadership of MATI’s Godfrey Enjady working tirelessly with friends, such as PVT’s James Meyers, to restore vital communications within and outside of their own service areas. Or the local businesses working together to meet the needs of those impacted. Local businesses matter and will be there when needed.
