Chaplain serving my fellow veterans. Promoting public health approaches to suicide prevention. Anabaptist.
This is a wonderful book for anyone who has been burned by the church. Jenai Auman H. writes about her experience working for a Houston church plant that was part of the Acts 29 network. I like her use of the concept of moral injury (developed in a veteran context). I’ve been there more than once in religious settings. Toxic leaders demand absolute obedience while refusing personal accountability. They destroy trust. They gaslight. Get Jenai‘s book to learn how to break free and heal.

3wI do not believe "the church" burns anyone, but unconverted people connected with the church. And yes, unconverted people have 'burned me'. Yet, we are instructed that as Jesus was treated, so we can expect to also be treated. Blessings!
