Let’s discuss together,, ▶️ Within visual merchandising, there are 4 key elements. These elements are where the advertisements can be placed to attract customers. These four areas are: The store exterior – marquees, window displays and entrance The store layout – selling space, personnel space and merchandising space The store interior – the store design (floor and wall coverings, fixtures and lighting) The interior display – the way of displaying the merchandise. Did you know Visual Merchandisers is just a fancy word for decorators? Agreed? Why not? It’s quite simple – all we do is arrange for a few materials/objects and decorate the space, it’s not that hard. Recently, my work was brushed off as mere decoration for a jewellery exhibition (that too by an ex-colleague). It’s eye-opening how little our community’s efforts are truly recognized here in India. I was shocked at how misunderstood my work was, even after 15+ years of being in this field. If you’ve also felt this in this or any other field, trust me, you’re not alone. Visual merchandising is often reduced to creating beautiful backgrounds, hanging ornaments, and flashy displays. But let me set the record straight: it’s so much more than that. As visual merchandisers, our role is to bridge the gap between marketing’s storytelling dreams and retail’s cold, hard numbers. It’s about weaving creativity with business acumen to deliver results that speak volumes while bringing a brand’s vision to life and creating that customer experience. But until people understand the depth of our craft, we’re in for an uphill battle. Share this post/comment down below if you’ve also experienced your work being misunderstood 👀🙋🏻♀️

Understanding our assets of specialist skills. Visual merchandising involves a unique blend of creativity, design, and strategic planning to create appealing and effective retail environments.
Visual Merchandisers are not Sales Assistants this is what’s devaluing this very creative industry. Visual Merchandisers are Stylist but in a different way, we work with three to five mannequins bringing all the merchandise together dressed to inspire, compliment the given scheme creating cohesion throughout. At times I wonder why some organizations require a Visual Merchandiser when they don't even know their importance and does'nt value their existence. For example if they require travelling for store visits, market surveys or vendor. meets then all other departments starts gossiping and spreading rumours like VMs are just travelling around to have fun and hardly have anything to do.What they dont see is their hardwork, their creativity, patience, skills which creates an overall impact of look and feel of the store and also brand identity. And when they don't travel and sit in office then they are tagged as VMs have nothing to do in office rather than sitting and doing timepaas. There are certain events and meetings where VMs are not even included to be a part of it whereas all other departments are invited. There are certain activities like visual executions, new store openings, preparing BOQ etc which VMs don't decide. Would really like to know from VM community if they face such challenges ever. #visualmerchandisers #VM

Do you even know who is "Visual Merchandising" Visual merchandisers are frequently burdened with intense workloads and get inhibited support from retailers. Retailers need to realize that visual merchandisers are not just decorators. Instead, they play a key role in boosting sales and making customers have memorable experiences. Their success does not only come from the things they create but also from how well they work with others and build relationships. My Studies & research have found that when stores attractively display their products, it can greatly increase sales by as much as 30% and improve how customers view the brand. However, surprisingly, 85% of stores do not include visual merchandisers in their strategic planning. These skilled professionals have the ability to transform a store into a work of art, yet they're often excluded from vital decisions that shape the retail plan. By harnessing the creativity and attention to detail of visual merchandisers, retailers can create an immersive shopping experience that delights customers and drives sales. Visual merchandisers are the creative minds behind the stunning displays that catch our eyes and draw us into stores. They use their artistic talents to arrange products in a way that not only looks visually appealing but also tells a story. It's their job to create an immersive shopping experience for customers, from the moment they walk into the store to the moment they leave. With their keen eye for design and attention to detail, visual merchandisers can transform a retail space into a work of art. Now, let's start talking. Have you ever seen visual merchandising in a store? Is this the first time you are reading about this interesting concept? Share your own experiences and thoughts in the comments section. If you know someone really good at arranging things to look nice in stores, tag them and ask them to join this conversation. Together, let's appreciate and honor the talented visual merchandisers for their important contributions to the retail industry. #visualmerchandiser #fashionindustry #fashionstyle #display
