What is hand disability? There are five causes of hand disability - (1) Loss of part of the hand (2) LOSS of active movement (3) LOSS of passive movement (4) Impairment of sensation (5) Pain Rarely do these occur singly and often all five causes are present but for ease of description they will be treated separately. Use of one hand/ARM An individual with use of one hand or arm may have difficulty manipulating, accessing, or using different tools or equipment in the workplace.
