All. Of. This. Recently experienced many of her points at a broken and confused organization. Protecting my peace AND doing what was best for patients was not valued, appreciated, or encouraged. Allegedly I was hired for my expertise but those that could benefit made the choice to not listen. This year, my prayers and hope are aimed at the black men in leadership positions at corporations. Wanting to be viewed as strong and protective, I have experienced them fold under the pressures of white leaders. Speaking of having integrity and exhibiting such are two different things. Talk can be very cheap when you have employees looking to you for guidance and advocacy yet receive blame and zero support. Black women in corporate America: keep your head up! ✊🏾
Former Chief of Staff, Current Associate Director of DEIJB, and an advocate to all who have ever been called different and treated negatively because of it.
Black women in corporate America (and higher ed, non-profits, VC, etc). Given all of the recent events in the news and beyond, this resonates ✊🏿🙏🏿

Hii, welcome to Women’s History Month! 🤭 When I was making this post I couldn't help but anticipate the occasional fuss from some men, claiming, "Every day is women's day, when will men ever be celebrated?" Mantrums can be funny but let's not underestimate how dangerous they could be. This month, every month, every day, I will celebrate women. If the only time men feel overlooked is during women's celebrations, I deem their complaint invalid. Instead of ranting, here are a few things you can do this month to support and celebrate with us; 1. Support small women-owned businesses. It'll be more beautiful if you can patronize, donate to and support Black, Neurodivergent, Queer, and Disabled women-led organizations, or businesses. 2. Unlearn misogyny and stop victim-blaming. Break your silly and outdated "Bro codes'' that harm women. Stop killing, raping, and abusing women. Report individuals engaged in harmful behaviors that affect women, whether they be your friend or brother. 3. Advocate for women. Don't sit on the sidelines. Champion this cause like it's directly affecting you. 4. Provide women with opportunities, contribute to closing the wage gap, respect women and their voices, and foster a workplace that's conducive for them. 5. Instead of bitching about how men are being raped, killed, and also abused as a tactic to divert attention from women's issues, take the initiative to mentor the next generation of young men, helping them become better individuals. Dear women, I celebrate your journey, acknowledging our collective progress and the historic milestones we've achieved. In those challenging moments, stay resilient, as breakthroughs often happen when the going gets tough. Be your sister's keeper. "Women supporting women" shouldn't be lip service but your way of living. Unlearn internalized misogyny, racism, xenophobia, classism, homophobia and transphobia. Ditch the competitiveness and comparisons, and continue breaking down prejudices. Advocate relentlessly for your rights, recognizing our duty to the next generation of women. Thank you for being here, congratulations and Happy Women's History Month! #womenshistorymonth

Cooperatives, along with employee ownership and other 'beyond profit' structures, are at the heart of the Restoration of our corporate world. Imagine even turning the corporate structure of every country into an employee owned co-operative. Now that's some divine thinking! #weareenough #thereisenough #comeontherestoration
“Scotland has a rich tradition of radical women agitating for social change: equal rights, votes for women. But the history is in danger of getting lost” says media co-op’s Vilte Vaitkute. “It’s been a real honour and huge fun for media co-op to collaborate with local women activists, to rescue this inspiring history of the co-op movement, and put it on screen. Being nominated for this award is the icing on the cake. We’re asking everyone we know to watch and vote, vote, vote.” Please vote for our 2-minute film on women's rights and co-operative history https://lnkd.in/eyXfqsM3 Engender Scotland Close the Gap Zero Tolerance Scotland Cooperatives UK Paisley Museum & Art Gallery OneRen SCVO (Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations) National Library of Scotland Scotmid Co-operative Refuge

Ways the Black Feminist Fund leads: 1. Eight-year flexible grants to sustain Black feminist organizations around the world 2. The Global Black Feminist Forum held in Barbados, bringing together 300 activists, scholars, practitioners in philanthropy. One of the many reasons this was crucial is because the Caribbean is the only global region without its own feminist fund 3. Participatory, stipended grantmaking process and committee 4. Funding registered and non-registered and non-registered groups 5. Breaking the global north-south binary by funding and connecting Black feminist groups in the Americas, the Middle East, Europe and Africa. #whereBFFleadsphilanthropyshouldfollow

Cultural Economist helping leaders build a common ground of understanding and collaboration on race and economic equity
In this month's CGC Journal, we dive into the War Waged Against Black Women and DEI. Plus, we ask the critical question: Why do a majority of White women vote polar opposite of the majority of Black women ... and all nonwhite women? We want to hear from you. Join our co-learning community and let's have a conversation. To make substantive progress we must understand the enemies of our progress. https://lnkd.in/gctvFRz5
