We were honoured to welcome the Chancellor Rt Hon Rachel Reeves and Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner to Oval Village today as the new Government launched its mission to fix the foundations of the economy and deliver sustained growth. Driving up housing delivery is at the heart of their approach and we are hugely encouraged by the measures announced today and the commitment to forge a new partnership with the private sector. During the visit the Chancellor and Deputy Prime Minister saw the affordable and private homes being delivered across Oval Village, and spoke to ten apprentices about their experience on site and future career aspirations. At Berkeley Group we firmly believe that brownfield regeneration sites, like Oval Village, are the most sustainable form of homebuilding and have a key role to play in delivering the homes, growth and productivity our country need. One of many Berkeley Group Plc superb examples of BROWNFIELD REGENERATION. This isn't the lowest hanging fruit by any means but we have photographed several Berkeley projects like this and they are what is needed, where its needed. I hope she took notes!!
Exciting times for #property business. Hopefully, we will be seeing more #propertydevelopment projects rising around the country and stem the tide of developers closing shop.
A great project to visit
Did they happen to mention who is going to build them and who is going to pay the finance on the build before they can be handed over to who is able to buy them 🤔 champagne dreams with lemonade money I am afraid.
Really important the message gets across about the importance of brownfield regeneration, well done Alison Dowsett and Berkeley Group Plc
The right uniform can make anyone look like they belong. Great pictures and exciting news. Well Done Berkeley Group Plc 👏
Fantastic news but as I have been saying for a number of years where are the tradesman to build all these houses perhaps if the Rt Hon Rachel Reeves or Angela Rayner reads this comment they may be able to give the industry an answer

2wIf Tony Pidgley God bless him the founder of Berkeleys was still with us then there would be a possibility that the 300000 thousand homes per annum pledged by the Government could be achieved. As it stands there is not a hope in hell of it happening massive shortages of skilled labour at all levels including professional engineers and architects not sufficient materials available at realistic prices regardless of all the planning issues. You will note the term homes is always used so define homes is it a flat on the 50th floor of a block a detached house semidetached a terrace a bungalow maisonette a timber frame a factory made concrete house a plastic house or even a canal barge !! ?? But before you build anything you need infrastructure it’s not there we can’t even maintain what we have got and finally the affordability and the availability of mortgages needs sorting.Good Luck Stay to everyone it’s going to be a long long haul
