At BentoBox, we often talk about how restaurant are pillars of their communities -- meeting places where people go to celebrate, connect, grieve, have discourse, laugh, and of course, share a meal. It's an honor to serve and spotlight customers like BC Restaurant Group, Burke & Black, Milk & Pull, and Virtue that take this role so seriously.

Good things are happening every day. Take a look around: special moments, celebrations, milestones, new skills learned, services provided to the community, a smile shared and just simple kindness. From a communications perspective, embracing those moments and sharing the impact is a large part of elevating your brand’s/organization’s, group’s/etc story. The little things matter in the big picture. You can’t expect everyone to see it that way… Another 🔑: Having colleagues who are willing to identify the moments. This is so important. Social media isn’t “their thing,” but you can’t be everywhere. Those conversations to share the goal and have support in a team effort - Lisa is wonderful at doing so. While working in public safety, it was often the photos sent by Captains of station training on a random afternoon that truly gave a behind-the-scenes look. In news, sometimes the moments turned into lead stories. A small moment is much more.
Happily Ever After starts at IHOP! 💕 After exchanging vows on Friday morning, Carl and Trudie Yassell visited IHOP in Pompano Beach to celebrate with loved ones. As fate would have it on this special day, South Florida Regional Director Lisa Méndez was at the restaurant for a meeting at the same time. Throughout Sunshine Restaurant Partners, Lisa is known for her “Meals on Me” tradition, as she will often cover the check for lucky guests dining with us while she is out visiting the 50 locations she oversees. On Friday morning, the newlyweds and their group heard, “Meals on Me!” We are honored to share the special moments with guests, from major milestones to new memories with family and friends. Cheers to a lifetime of happiness and short stacks, Mr. & Mrs. Yassell!

Happy Valentines Day! Or, if that’s not your thing. Happy Wednesday. Either way, if you’re in BC or any part of the world really, Show some love to your local restaurants. Go buy some croissants at your local corner bakery. Get a table at the cute restaurant with the nice atmosphere (that’s not part of a chain) Go to your local farmer’s market and get some homemade jams. Shop local. It makes a difference. And why not do it on the day celebrating love? #foodcostingsoftware #valentinesday

The Meaning of the 🍓 Strawberry Emoji: A Deeper Look Another common use of 朗 is in social media posts, where it is often used as a form of endorsement or recommendation. For example, if someone shares a photo of a delicious meal they had at a restaurant, they might tag the restaurant and add 朗 to show others how much they enjoyed the food. This can help promote the restaurant and encourage others to try it out. If you’re not sure how to use the 朗 emoji, don’t worry – it’s actually quite simple! Here are some situations where you might use it: Reacting to good news or an exciting event Showing admiration for someone’s accomplishments or talents - https://flip.it/8PCoeN

I finally read Kitchen Confidential, the entire time I could hear Anthony Bourdain’s voice. Having been in the restaurant industry as an ice cream scooper, server, bar tender and now marketing it brings back memories and lessons for the future. 👨🍳 You don’t have to be in the industry to read this and in case you want to, these are three of my takeaways: 1. Not everyone can or should own a restaurant and it takes thick skin to work in one. 2. Life is more meaningful when you overcome a struggle and learn from it. 3. Food can heal you, it can take you away to different places and it can travel through time. #fallreading #researchanddevelopment #restaurantbranding

Once upon a time there was a brunch restaurant... 🥞 ✨ The restaurant was closing soon, so they decided to serve their final pancake-craving customer with the biggest pancake they'd ever seen. It was their last order of the day, so the cook thought "Why not? I'll just use the rest of the batter for their order. It's going in the trash, anyways!" It was the customer's first time dining at the restaurant. They LOVED their pancake. "This is the biggest pancake I've ever SEEN!" they'd exclaimed, gleefully. That next Sunday, they came back to the restaurant - this time bringing their friends & family for the occasion. Everyone ordered 1 pancake. When their food came out they all looked at their plates disappointingly, then over to their friend questioningly. Nothing stings worse than being hyped up about a killer meal, only to be brought out one normal-sized pancake! 😢 This is a real story. I was the manager called to the table to explain the situation to the customer who had only dined with us twice & was threatening never to return (alongside 8 other brand new customers!). This is a story about the importance of #consistency in a business model, level setting #expectations, & celebrating with your clients when you #exceed those expectations (as opposed to acting like they're the norm). This translates SO WELL to the #businessdevelopment space. Does anyone else have a pancake story? How did you handle it? Did it build or break trust? 🤔 💭
