Acknowledging differences and valuing input from all levels fosters a culture of openness and collaboration, which is crucial for navigating complex crises. โ ๐ช๐๐๐๐๐๐: Courage means having the bravery to admit when we're facing challenges, when weโre uncertain, or when we require help and face it anyway. โ ๐ช๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐: Amidst the chaos, consistency acts as a stabilizing force. Leaders must uphold principles and actions consistently, instilling confidence and predictability within their teams and stakeholders. โ ๐ท๐๐๐๐๐๐ & ๐ณ๐๐๐: Genuine passion for the mission and care for the people involved fuel resilience and determination. Leaders who lead with empathy and a sincere dedication to their teamโs well-being inspire loyalty and commitment. โ ๐ฎ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ด๐๐๐ ๐๐๐: Embracing a continuous learning and adaptation mindset enables leaders to evolve alongside evolving threats and challenges. Trust grows from there. It's a byproduct of all the above. ๐ What other qualities do you believe are critical for a Crisis Leader to possess in our industry? Thank you for sharing, Benny Matthew, CPP! Courage is too often perceived as being a "superhero", when it's not! It's really about embracing being outside of our comfort zone. I remember this very wise definition of a crisis I heard by a CSO: we are in crisis mode when we don't have the resources to deal with a situation. That's it! The rest is BAU, and the same applies to courage. When we are not outside of our comfort zone, it's BAU and it does not take any courage. Hoping the comparison makes sense ๐
