Thinking about posting a weekly reflection prompt for Emerging Managers and LPs ✍ Prompts can be: "What are traits in a founder/GP that increase your conviction for investing? What questions can you ask to identify those traits in founders/GPs more clearly?" "Have you ever discovered something about a founder/GP after you invested that surprised you in a way that would have changed your decisions?" "What do you perceive your responsibility as with the money you have available to support the technological innovations of tomorrow? Does this responsibility scare you? Should it scare you?" I have worked with a family office and have experienced the importance for thoughtfulness as an LP firsthand. It determines who you invest in and who you don't. It can make the difference between an average investment practice and a top decile practice. The best Emerging Managers are highly thoughtful people. They are brutally honest with themselves. The combination of thoughtfulness and conviction is what can tip the scale from being an average emerging fund to a top decile fund. Let me know if this is something you would read!!!
