Michigan's First-Ever Chief Innovation Ecosystem Officer 💡 | 2x Hard-Tech Startup Veteran 🚀 | Ex-Skunk Works 🦨 | Builder 🛠️ | Lifelong Learner 📚 | Private Pilot 👨🏻✈️

🎉 I’m unimaginably humbled and thrilled to share that Governor Gretchen Whitmer has named me as the State of Michigan's first-ever Chief Innovation Ecosystem Officer! I'll be helping to build a statewide community of innovation and make Michigan a place where innovators and entrepreneurs feel seen and heard and work together to drive us forward. I look forward to working closely with Governor Whitmer, Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist II, Quentin Messer, Jr., and especially the countless founders, dreamers, investors, and champions of doing and building good things in my wonderful home state. I'll have plenty more to share in the coming days and weeks, but I couldn't be more excited about the opportunity! Let's get it. The official press release: https://lnkd.in/e2AxMpzY

Here’s what entrepreneurs like me are looking for in some form: ongoing, statewide zero-money pitch competitions, not 1 minute but 8 minute ones so we can actually explain ourselves (can be broken up to different rooms) where there aren’t four “important” judges deciding for the crowd but the crowd itself voting, much like we did recently at the Southeast Michigan Chamber of Commerce Shark Tank event (300+ attendees voted for a $50k prize- posts coming soon) and anyway there’s just zero (or much too difficult) ways currently for bootstrapping founders to get their messages to relevant agencies while getting mass feedback (again, not from 3-4 “judges”) as to what they need to do and where to go. We need millions of dollars allocated for super micro grants of $1k for any legally registered LLC to get *whatever* they need, why all the bureaucracy in startup land? Not to mention every single graduating senior in the state of Michigan should be walking away with their own LLC, be it a consulting one or otherwise. We have big ideas here in Clawson at WolfPack Engagement and you being brought on is just one of the many reasons the Whitmer administration will be remembered for genertions to come. Support #bootstrappers!
