Waste ➡️ Snacks! 🍏 This juicing facility produces 100,000 gallons of juice per week, and as a by-product it also produces millions of tons of pulp every year! Instead of going to waste, this pulp is being rescued and turned into nutrient-dense and delicious snacks! Juice pulp contains 95% of produce’s fibre, and is packed with nutrients, making it the perfect base for chips. All of the remaining pulp is used for animal feed–making this a 99.8% zero-waste facility. There is also a wastewater treatment plant on site to ensure that the water used for washing the produce and machines can be repurposed or sent back to the city. Great film on upcycling for food! 👍
This is amazing, thanks for sharing! Ben Brown
Thanks for the video and telling about it!
This is awesome! So much food goes to waste everyday seeing such ideas makes me feel like not everything is lost in this world...It would be awesome if these snacks were priced similarly to conventional junk food and not a premium to make them accessible to as many people as possible. Unfortunately not everyone can afford to eat healthy so hopefully these chips will help to solve this problem also.
Its soylent green
Ecolab calendar is everywhere 😂
If juice is extracted from fruit or vegetable, what else is left ? I might be wrong , but the waste you are talking about is actually waste, the best it can be used is for building packaging material, card board etc. But making snacks out of it ? Isn't going too far ?
