With more than one-third of large organizations engaged in some form of transformation at any given time, the landscape demands supporting ongoing change. Excellent piece in Harvard Business Review on the importance of three key areas when undergoing meaningful change. 1. Adopt an Agile Mindset 2. Use aspirations to continuously challenge and stretch the organization 3. Build transformation into the company’s operating rhythm Change is inevitable. How successful we are throughout the process is completely up to us. #ChangeManagement #Communication #HBR https://lnkd.in/dVVJkRuR

Manage transformation nowadays by moving from “freeze, change, unfreeze” to “rethink, reshape, repeat” Successful transformations relie on: 1. Approaching transformation as a continuous process rather than a project/program (with start and end date). 2. Building and agile mindset and leadership, along with operational agility. Often times this means you must let go of relicves of the past practices. Think about 🚀 and ✈️ - if you want to take off, you must be strong but “light.” 3. Leveraging collective knowledge and best practices not just within your industry, but across industries as well. Use Communities of Practice, Centers of Excellence. 4. KPIs and targets are great to articulate how success looks like, but people need more to fuel their motivation and creativity when in the mist of transformations - we need purpose✨. An ambitious north star can increase collaboration and innovation, can make the impossible a reality. 🌫️Transformations are by nature wrapped in uncertainty, and although management teaches us that any plan is better than no plan, you should consider that nowadays you will need first: 🏹An inspiring purpose and audacious goal 🤝The right people for the journey …………..the plan will follow. I'm a huge fan of continuous improvement and this modern perspective of change! Embracing an agile culture truly seems to be the key to thriving in today's ever-evolving business landscape. Continuous learning and adaptability are crucial, and the next challenge is developing strategies effective in fostering this environment. How can organizations and leaders best support their teams in making this mindset shift? #ContinuousImprovement

Very interesting write up from Michael Mankins and Patrick Litre here. For most of our lives, business change has been characterized by the “unfreeze, change, and refreeze" model, where every new initiative has a beginning and end. That shouldn’t be the case anymore. Change today has no defined arc or scope, it's should always be present, and ever evolving. So how do we adapt to this continuous improvement mindset? The first step is adopting an agile culture and approach, we must change how we think about change. Once you've gotten into that mindset, you can start to build continuous transformation and experimentation into the bedrock of your company's culture and processes. #TransformationalLeadership #ChangeManagement #AgileTransformation

Great post again, Jason Stone. Thanks for sharing! And as always a topic is close to my heart. I often introduce myself as a student of change and a proponent of people in organizations. My journey in understanding change began with the book “Complexity,” where I learned the concept of “perpetual novelty.” We never step into the same river twice. Complex systems are constantly and non-linearly interacting, creating new environments and emergent behaviors. The only way forward is through trial and error: plan, execute, observe, adapt, and repeat. As M. Mitchell Waldrop says, “the world has to adapt itself to a condition of perpetual novelty, at the edge of chaos.” You are once again spot on to recommend an agile culture to succeed in todays world! The first step towards managing a complex environment is to transform organizational culture to one that embraces a growth and an agile mindset. The safe and encouraging environment where employees change their approache to value creation based on the feedback from the system.

My fellow CROs know that our role requires us to wear a variety of different hats so that we can drive business growth from a multi-faceted, comprehensive perspective. That’s probably why this Harvard Business Review article resonated with me so much – since it highlights the importance of adopting an agile mindset and building transformation into the heart of a company’s operating rhythm. 3️⃣Essential Elements for Successful Business Transformations. Successful organizational transformations hinge on the human factor. 3 essential areas of consideration are: 👫People: The first factor to consider is the human aspect, as people can act as both catalysts and barriers to transformation. Buy-in from all stakeholders is crucial to overcome resistance and make change successful. 🏛️Culture: The second element is organizational culture. A culture driven by fear will inhibit transformation efforts. In contrast, a culture that fosters open communication and continuous learning is beneficial. 🤸♀️Agility: The third essential component is agility. Organizations need to be flexible to adapt to volatile market conditions. Implementing Lean and Agile methodologies can enhance productivity and enable quicker response times. As always, I'm keen to know your thoughts on this topic! What has been your experience with change and transformation? #businessgrowth #transformation #change management #agile #innovation

Traditionally, transformation efforts have been organized as programs with defined beginnings and ends, following a model popularized by psychologist Kurt Lewin in the 1950s: “unfreeze, change, refreeze.” While this approach is effective for discrete projects, such as implementing a new payroll system, Michael Mankins and Patrick Litre explain that it falls short in today’s dynamic business environment. Continuous #BusinessTransformation is now essential, with no room for pausing, refreezing, and stepping away. To support this continuous transformation, it's crucial for companies to: ☑️ Adopt an agile mindset ☑️ Use aspirations to challenge and stretch the organization ☑️ Build transformation into their operating rhythm #Leadership #ChangeManagement
