Meaningful community impact. Thoughtfully directed.

If you're a company looking for an impactful nonprofit to support that focuses on education, sustainability, and economic prosperity, I urge you to learn more about California Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom and how we are driven to raise awareness and understanding of agriculture. I spent some time with other Ag in the Classroom Program Leaders earlier this week at National Agriculture in the Classroom's annual Conference in Salt Lake City. Dr. Carlos Ortiz with USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture spoke to our leadership group about the importance of communicating our "why". A couple of thoughts on that... - Recognizing, understanding, and valuing the people and process that feed our communities is critical for food system sustainability, especially as the global population increases. - Agriculture is a common language. No matter if you're teaching ag in New York, Oklahoma, or New Mexico, the fundamentals and key outputs are the same. - Our "why" at Ag in the Classroom is that look of wonder and joy when a child tastes a new fruit or veggie or that curiosity when a high schooler realizes there's more opportunity and options than they realize working in farming or getting one kid to understand all the effort that goes into getting that apple in their lunch box. #community #agliteracy #NAITC24
