🇷🇺 Vladimir Putin: "As long as I am President of Russia, we will not have Parent 1 and Parent 2, we will have mom and dad." #russia #world #humanity
Did he say that tho? Looking for a source on the internet but nothing... Only a tweet by a (self-appointed) news agency.
I don't care what the West says about him... But he is one of the only true Leaders and Politicians on Earth..
Hi Burak Delibas, I have a couple of questions, would you have posted this if Netanyahu had made the statement? It’s ironic that many pro-Palestine supporters are now applauding Putin, a man currently waging war in Ukraine, while simultaneously seeking support for Palestine against Israel. This contradiction is troubling. Openly stating that you support only the Gazan resistance is unwise. Imagine if everyone only cared about their own issues—how would Palestine receive the support and coverage it does? People should stand with justice universally. Turning a blind eye to the injustices faced by others because of who they are, what they believe in, or whom they love is just as bad as being an oppressor. As a Muslim, I assume you stand against Islamophobia. Yet here, you perpetuate injustice based on sexuality and orientation. Lastly, since when did Putin become a moral compass?
I'm utterly stunned by the number of my 1st degree connections supporting this. I shall be disconnecting. 🗑️ LGBTQ+ rights are not "immoral" or a danger to children as some of these comments suggest. And there are ways to call out unworkable, sensationalist language like Parent 1 and Parent 2 without resorting to discrimination against LGBTQ+ people.
Nice human He is ..
Hmm... some of the comments here illustrate why innocent people end up dying in wars. Every time the West piles on to expressions of hatred against Putin, more lives will be lost to the proxy war. Russia wanted to 'come in from the cold' years ago but the MIComplex couldn't allow that. Just imagine how much tolerance and how many progressive social ideas could have made their way into Russia if we'd prioritized world peace over war profiteering. Whoever the Russian leader may have been - in my idealized, fictional alternate reality had we chosen peace - would probably not have spoken those dehumanizing, regressive words :(
I'm curious: why did you post this Burak? Here's some reading which puts (official) Russian homophobia in context. << The strategy of the Russian state, in tandem with the Russian Orthodox Church, to use LGBTQ+ rights as a red-button issue to win support for their criminal war campaign has a lot in common with the United States Republican Party’s cynical exploitation of the abortion debate and other social issues (including LGBTQ+ rights) over the past four decades.>> https://theconversation.com/homophobia-as-a-wartime-marketing-tool-some-russians-fear-the-west-will-make-them-gay-192826
Dear Burak Delibas - Human Rights are universal - whether we are fighting for Palestinian human rights or the rights of our LGBTQ siblings. We must always remember MLK's words: "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere". Putin is no hero. Enemy of our enemy is not a friend. Putin has a horrible record for human rights abuses - racism, homophobia, islamophobia, curtailing free press, and much much more. I expect more from our friends who support Palestinian human rights - I expect them to support human rights of ALL human beings, including our LGTBQ sisters and brothers. And one category doesn't preclude another. LGTBTQ friends exist everywhere - including Palestine!

1wThe only community I support on earth is Gazan resistance 🇵🇸 And I am against Zionism and everything they fund. And I believe: “O humanity! Indeed, We created you from a 'male' and a 'female', and made you into peoples and tribes so that you may ˹get to˺ know one another." [Quran 49:13] Any question?
