🚀 Halfway Through My IPG Mediabrands Internship Journey! 🚀 Wow, time flies when you're having fun, and I can't believe it's already been half of my internship journey at Mediabrands with the amazing UM Australia team! From day one, I've been on a thrilling rollercoaster of learning and growth, and I couldn't be more grateful for the incredible opportunities I've had in the media industry. 😊 Here are some highlights of my journey so far: 🤝 Teamwork: I started this journey alongside Jack Keith and Serena Knight, and together, we've been diving deep into the world of strategy, creative connections, planning, and trading at UM agency. It's been an incredible learning experience! We've also gained skills in extracting insights, brainstorming effectively, doing research, asking clients valuable questions, crafting media plans and reports, and learning successful UM campaigns for Lion. 💡 Diverse exposure: My adventure didn't stop at UM. I've also had the chance to explore social, search, and programmatic at Reprise Digital - Australia and Matterkind. In particular, it was mind-blowing to learn how media space can be acquired by programmatic in less than 100 milliseconds. 🤝 Mentorship and Supportive Environment: My buddies at Mediabrands have been incredibly amazing and supportive. They've not only shared their industry insights but also their invaluable experiences, giving me a real taste of agency life. 🎓 Learning Opportunities: I've had the opportunities to shadow experts, attend enlightening lectures, and even attend partner meetings with media giants like JCDecaux Australia, QMS, and ARN. Those opportunities allowed me to learn about media partners' businesses, collaboration and the importance of building a strong relationship with media partners. 📊 Real-World Experience: Working on actual briefs from iconic brands like KitKat Chocolatory, Optus, and Spotify has been a dream come true. Applying what I've learned in strategy lectures to real-life situations has been incredibly rewarding. 🎉 Perks and Fun: It's not all work and no play at Mediabrands. We've enjoyed amazing perks, like bowling in the middle of a workday as a networking event and gifts from our clients! 🎳 🎁 🥪 Food Adventures: Lunch breaks with fellow interns and our relaxing moments in Prince Alfred Park across from the office have been some of the best times. Shoutout to City Edge for those delicious baguettes! 😋 📆 Exciting Future: As I look forward to the second half of my internship, I can't wait to dive even deeper into the media industry. Tomorrow, I'll be attending Pinterest Presents with other interns, and the excitement is real! 📌 The first half has been an amazing journey with experiences and opportunities, and I can't wait to see what the next chapter holds!

I started getting special treatments and benefits no other intern have received that the workers started asking me if I knew him outside the workplace. One thing brands don’t get is.. As a brand you’re meant to sell more than your product or services. You’re meant to sell emotional hints (connections) with your customers Apple Focuses on the experience and premium solitude with their sleek and innovative products. The Coca-Cola Company Creates a sense of happiness, togetherness, and nostalgia through its marketing. Nike Inspires emotions like motivation, achievement, and determination through its "Just Do It" campaign. The Walt Disney Company Evokes a wide range of emotions, from joy and wonder to nostalgia and sentimentality. I guess it's never too late to share! I want to take some time to reflect on my incredible internship journey at Digitas North America in their Atlanta office. It still feels like yesterday when I got the chance to be in a place that kind of felt like home when I was leaving it. Under the brilliant guidance of my hiring manager, Courtney Tambasco, Jana Zdancewicz, and brilliant boss, Christian Rogers, I had the opportunity to dive deep into the world of media-fueled creativity. Their mentorship not only sharpened my skills but also illuminated the path of creativity and precision that I aspire to follow. My time at Digitas was more than just an internship; it was a voyage of discovery, ideation, and real-world application of everything I learned in my past and at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign. From adopting a media-first thinking approach to working on campaigns for illustrious clients like Walmart and Crocs, I was granted a vast canvas to bring my ideas to life. Although moving to Atlanta presented its challenges initially, it eventually became a nurturing ground for my ambitions. We asked Junie Fu, one of our Session 1 marketing interns, a few questions about her experience and aspirations on the Biscuit Beacon team. See her responses below! During session one I was a member of the public affairs team, which primarily dedicated to promoting our website as well as the app. My projects mainly focus on drafting the posts both visual and text. In addition to that, I am also responsible for managing brand accounts on Reddit. 2. What's your favorite part about being on the Biscuit Beacon team? My favorite part about being on the Biscuit Beacon Team is the incredible diversity among our team members, you would be able to learn more about your teammate's culture during the orientation and also get to know each other. 3. What are you most excited about for Session 2? What I'm most excited about Session two is seeing how new members contribute to the products and also want to see of progress that we will make by then!

That’s a wrap, folks! I am sad to share that my summer internship at Publicis Groupe is coming to an end this week. What an incredible 10 weeks it’s been! I can honestly say that I stepped into this role with no expectations. I’ve always wanted to experience life at an ad agency and am thankful that Fallon was my first. In the spirit of paying it forward, if you are someone that is considering an internship at Fallon, here are a few things you CAN expect. 1.     Expect to be welcomed into a small cohort of other interns led by two dedicated people. These people are your “go-to”. They are there to receive your feedback, check in with you weekly, encourage you to learn and grow daily, and talk to you about any cultural events that have the wheels in your brain spinning (like Barbenheimer 😉) Thank you Kerry Gay and Cynthia Saad for being these people for us this summer.  2.     Expect to be mentored by not one, but two, talented individuals. These people will help you sharpen your technical skills and talk with you in length about your role, the industry, and any universal thoughts you may have. Thank you Emma Johnsen (Pindell) and Tiffany Luong for being these people for me – I’ll take all our conversations with me into my next endeavor and beyond. 3.     Expect to work on real client projects. You will be included in meetings, asked for your thoughts/opinions/ideas, and will have input on things that are put in front of clients.  4.     Expect to connect with and learn from exceptional professionals. People at Fallon want to get to know the interns. Whether you work directly with someone or not, they will gladly make time for you.  5.     If you’re lucky, expect to make friends with the interns working with you. I was lucky enough to meet and work with talented peers who encouraged me and made me laugh along the way. *If you’re hiring, I’d highly recommend them: Bri Lucero (art direction & design), Gillian Rooney (media), Anthony Saucedo (social Strat.), Jenn Valerio (creative & production), Erin Dorney (art direction), Selena Souvannasane (production), Mia Forouhari (accounts). Being a fly on the wall is simply impossible at Fallon…a caterpillar, maybe. But hey, at least afterward you’re destined to be a butterfly.
