Panama City Beach is set to open an 80,000-square-foot medical office in the next few months, serving as the city’s urgent care and cardiovascular treatment facility, marking a monumental advancement for Bay County. This game-changing project, involving The St. Joe Company, Florida State University, and Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, has been in development since 2022. Future plans include an emergency center and a 100-bed inpatient facility, significantly enhancing healthcare services for the entire region.

The National Association of Broadcasters Leadership Foundation selected WJHG in Panama City, Florida, as the winner of the Small Market category for its community service program “Chapter Chat,” aimed at closing the reading gap among children after Hurricane Michael and the pandemic. The initiative included creating a book club, holding a book drive that collected over 1000 books, and reading to children at local schools. As a result, library visitation increased by almost 20 percent, and library card holders grew by 14 percent.
