#zeropollution The Shoonya – Zero Pollution Mobility campaign is a remarkable initiative in India. Led by NITI Aayog (National Institution for Transforming India) and supported by RMI (Rocky Mountain Institute) and RMI India, this campaign aims to improve air quality by accelerating the deployment of electric vehicles (EVs) for ride-hailing and delivery services. The word “Shoonya” means “zero” in Sanskrit, symbolizing the beginning of possibilities. Here are the key points: Objective: The campaign focuses on electrifying vehicles used for final-mile deliveries and ride-hailing services, thereby reducing pollution and promoting sustainable mobility. Corporate Partners: Shoonya has over 130 corporate partners, including companies from various sectors, collaborating to drive the adoption of zero-emission vehicles. Consumer Awareness: Shoonya aims to raise awareness about EVs among consumers, emphasizing their benefits and encouraging their adoption. Pathway to Electrification: The campaign charts a pathway toward 100% electrification in India’s urban final-mile connectivity and delivery sector. Activities: Shoonya hosts various activities, including photography competitions, quizzes, podcasts, and more, to engage the public and industry stakeholders.
