What might the future of buying a used car look like? 🚗 The students on the Digital Business and Innovation Management (DigiBIM) Master's program at FH Münster also asked themselves this question and developed a possible solution as part of an integrative project with the Digital Incubation Unit (DIU) at BASF Coatings. At the DIU, we identify and validate digital business models for #BASFCoatings, combining the agile mindset of a #startup with the expertise of a global corporation. 💡 Our challenge to the students: How can BASF Coatings leverage the growing trend of customer buying decisions based on digital solutions in cars to enhance customer satisfaction? The result: An app that reveals hidden defects when buying a used car, shares information on operating costs, and supports post-purchase maintenance and claims processing. Our Jury Lea Siepmann and Daplaah-Teng Aryene particularly liked not only the innovative idea, but above all the outstanding pitch with a used car buying simulation at the beginning and a product demo. This collaboration showcases how universities and companies can work together successfully, offering students practical experience while providing us with fresh perspectives to drive our #digitaltransformation.
