When we founded Siniard Law, LLC two years ago, we had two lawyers, three paralegals, and a legal assistant/receptionist. We had 101 clients we brought over from our prior firm. No systems, no mission statement, and little organization to our workflows. Two years later, we have added three team members. We have 272 clients. We have metric KPIs, core values, and clearly defined expectations and goals. We were recognized by Best Law Firms as a top injury litigation firm in our region in just our second year of existence. And yesterday, we passed the million dollar mark for revenue this year with half the year to go. I’m still figuring out how to do this. I’ve made a TON of mistakes. Botched marketing ideas, hiring crap vendors, not delegating anything for 1.5 years, letting email control me, and not hiring a full time receptionist until year 2. Those are just a few of the regrets. But I wouldn’t trade this journey for just about anything. I’m trying to enjoy the ride. 🤘🏼

DVA is not associated with this job posting Virtual Receptionist/Legal Intake Specialist https://lnkd.in/grzWN52N What does a day in the life of a Legal Intake Specialist look like? We are glad you asked! A typical Legal Intake Specialist takes about 90-120 calls per day. This is a very fast paced environment! Calls are typically back-to-back throughout the day. You are answering for about 60+ different law firms on any given day. This means each call is unique. One second you might be answering for a criminal attorney that has a potential new client on the line. The next call might be opposing counsel on a case wishing to speak with the attorney. Being confident is key! You never know what call is coming next. While you are going through your day you are supported by an exceptional team of Betties via our team chat. If you have a mean GIF game, you will fit right in! #jobseeker #jobsearch #jobs #job #jobseekers #hiring #jobsearching #recruitment #jobhunt #career #jobvacancy #jobinterview #employment #loker #nowhiring #jobboard #jobopportunity #recruiting #jobopening #resume #jobshiring #careers #work #interview #hiringnow #jobfair #recruiter #jobhunting #vacancy #jobseeking

Your first hire should be a virtual assistant if you're a solo attorney. That was not my first hire. I got incredibly lucky and my first hire is a wonderful woman who is smarter than me and has an opposite skill set. It's a long story of how we found each other and it was unconventional circumstances. Back to the point. Lawyers suck at business. I sucked at business. I'm trying to get better at business, and I am slowly but surely. Hiring a virtual assistant teaches you skills that you don't learn in law school and usually do not learn at a firm. It teaches you how to delegate and what to delegate. If you're doing $10/hr tasks like bates stamping documents, mailing envelopes, sending calendar invites, going back and forth with clients about times to talk, and even answering spam emails, you are stealing money from your company. My time is worth at least $300. That means that every time I'm spending an hour doing a $10/hr task, I'm stealing $290 from The Lacy Employment Law Firm.

JD/BA in Neuroscience | lsurgeoner@wegmanpartners.com | (585) 233-6272 | Legal Recruiter placing Partners, Associates, and Paralegals in Law Firms | Recovering Attorney | Mom of two beautiful little boys | Neurodiverse
Man, I miss Ted Lasso. When I was a lawyer, I never used LinkedIn. In fact, I started this recruiting thing with only 400 LinkedIn #connections. In a little over two years, though, I have grown that amount to over 6000 #connections. That's over 6000 opportunities for me to connect with someone that wants to #change their life. LinkedIn is a great way for an attorney, paralegal, or legal secretary to find a new opportunity through me (or my #connections - I often repost law firm job postings and occasionally even other recruiting agency's job posts). So build your #linkedinprofile. Make #connections and accept invitations. The bigger your #network, the more #opportunities for you and your #businessdevelopment. #work #tedlasso #becurious #recruiting #askmeaboutyourmarket #linkedin #amlaw200 #amlaw100 #boutiquelitigation #insurancedefense #insurancecoverage #dallas #austin #houston #atlanta #nyc #worklifebalance
