Top thing on my mind this afternoon: I grew up farming. Not that I did anything of significance. More or less, I was asked to not break anything. Which I didn't always abide by. There were many reason I was asked to do the grunt work, but one of them was the expensive nature of farming. The equipment, seed, fertilizer, spray.... you name it, it cost a lot. And if it's not going to work, best it not be the young guy's fault. Cost is always a consideration in business, agriculture is no different. As we enter into the Spring season in the Red River Valley, this article explains why we may be hearing about cost not only early on but throughout the farming season.
