Did you know that March of Dimes pioneered what we know today as grassroots fundraising? 🪙 They’ve been empowering people everywhere to play a role in advancing healthcare since they led the eradication of polio in the 30s and 40s with a call for extra dimes from radio listeners across the country 📻 More than 80 years later, they are still getting thousands of people involved in the mission - now through their March for Babies events around the country for healthier moms and babies 👩🏼🍼 Their latest step to increase accessibility of donating is adding DAFpay to all of their peer to peer fundraising forms for the event ✅ In addition to finding brand new donors that prefer giving with their DAF, they’re also regularly seeing existing donors that historically gave a $100 now making gifts over $2,000 through DAFpay 🥳 As Karyn DeMartini, MBA, VP of Major, Principal & Planned Giving, says “It’s just a fact that donors are increasingly electing to use DAFs—why would we not make that as easy as possible to use a DAF to support us?” 💡 I loved getting to learn more of Karyn’s personal connection to the mission, the exciting results with DAFpay and March of Dimes latest initiatives for healthier moms and babies everywhere 🤗 Writing our cause of the month spotlight articles is a highlight for me every month 💜 If there’s an organization you think we should spotlight in the future that’s innovating with their impact and their DAF fundraising, please let me know! 🙌🏼 #nonprofit #fundraising #philanthropy

Leadership begins in the heart. Great leaders serve others.
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! World Prematurity Day shines a light on the global crisis of premature babies. The U.S. remains among the most dangerous developed nations for childbirth. The number of babies who are born too early continues to rise. This urgent health crisis puts women and babies of color at the greatest risk. Fatherhood engagement is much more than outreach or marketing. Father-inclusive practice recognizes the crucial role fathers play in their children's lives, and proactively engages and supports them in the parenting process. Director Projects & Research | Partner to Progress | Transformational Change Leader | Team Champion | TEDx & JOSH Talks
As the upcoming CATS 49th Voluntary Blood Donation Camp approaches next month, I am contemplating the factors contributing to its enduring success over the past 16 years, particularly considering its management by a dedicated team of volunteers. Voluntary team management of CATS has embedded collaboration and cooperation as the guiding principle. By developing these, everyone feels valued and aligned with the team's mission and vision. Everyone has learnt the process by working in different positions over a number of camps, so they understand how every cog in the wheel is connected to ensure comfort for the donors. This experience has provided clarity of goals to provide direction and purpose. Leading by example in every position has motivated the team and encouraged new volunteers to follow suit, confidently and respectfully. Since each volunteer knows that their time and effort is being valued, it has helped open dialogue to encourage team inputs. Clear deliverables and open discussions have helped resolve any confusion or conflict that naturally crops up in a functioning team. Invariably every team member has demonstrated commitment and positive behaviour, by taking responsibility for communication gaps - magic word is sorry and magic action is a handshake or a hug, based on mutual comfort. is there something CATS can learn from you to improve further? #Leadership #TeamManagement #Assertiveness #VolunteerManagement #EffectiveCommunication #ConflictResolution

July is Make a Difference for Children Month. Throughout this special month, we come together to focus our collective efforts on empowering and uplifting the lives of children, nurturing their dreams, and ensuring their well-being. Children are the foundation upon which our future is built. They possess limitless potential, boundless curiosity, and an incredible capacity for growth. However, many children face daunting challenges, including poverty, lack of access to education, health disparities, and social inequalities. Make a Difference for Children Month reminds us of the urgent need to address these issues and work towards a brighter, more equitable world for every child. There are countless ways to contribute and create meaningful change during this inspiring month. Here are a few ideas to get you started: •Education for All: Volunteer your time or donate to organizations that promote education initiatives, ensuring that children have access to quality schooling and resources. •Support Health and Well-being: Good health is essential for children to thrive. Donate to organizations that provide medical assistance, nutritious meals, and clean water to children in need. •Mentorship and Guidance: Be a positive role model in a child's life, share your skills, experiences, and knowledge to help children unlock their potential and develop essential life skills. •Foster Love and Care: Show kindness and compassion to children around you, whether they are your own family members, neighbors, or community members. Remember, the impact of our actions extends far beyond Make a Difference for Children Month. Let us strive to create a world where every child's voice is heard, their rights are protected, and their dreams are nurtured throughout the year.
