It has been one month since I started my internship with USClaims and it has been rewarding to say the least and let me tell you why. Here are a few of the things that I have learned how to do since since my first day: 1. Pricing: I have been trained in how to review and approve deals that individuals all over the country rely on for their litigation funding needs. 2. Collections: Due to the exemplary training from and knowledge of my supervisor Roxanna Morran, I have been given the responsibility of posting the collections every day and have begun training on weekly write-off reports. 3. Risk Management: I have also created multiple finance, servicing, and risk management reports with the help of Market President Daniel Tallet, CEO Steve Bashmakov, and Servicing Manager Daniel Robbins. So far, my key takeaways from my time here have been as follows: 1. Surrounding yourself with hard-working driven people forces you to elevate your level of work and work ethic. 2. No matter how much you think you know, there’s always someone who knows more than you. In essence, there is always room to grow. Thank you to everyone who has helped me this far and I’m excited to see what the next month and a half has to offer.

This summer I had the privilege to intern at Deloitte in Risk and Financial Advisory. Before this experience, I was fortunate enough to intern at UBS Global Wealth Management and Wells Fargo Advisors. Together, these 3 internships have given me a great deal of knowledge. These are the top 3 things I have learned throughout my internship experiences. 1) Say "Thank you"- There are countless amounts of people who will help you through your experiences. Alumni, professors, and other peers deserve recognition for helping you achieve your success. 2) Real Life vs University- School DID NOT teach us that it is OK to be lost or confused, but those situations are what internships are about. Navigating through moments of uncertainty and learning how to respond when faced with challenges isn't often emphasized in traditional education. Maintaining composure, showing kindness, and knowing when to pause and reflect become essential skills in the workforce when dealing with conflicts or issues. 3) Considering External Factors- An internship is like test-driving a car, it's crucial to take everything into account. The commute, hybrid work arrangement, company perks, and overall organizational culture are some factors you must look into when seeing if you can create success from the opportunity at hand. This evaluation will help with life planning and work life balance. External influences should only HELP you with your career, not set you back. If anyone has any questions/ comments would love to connect!

Hello LinkedIn! I'm excited to share that, last week, I completed my Winter Externship at PwC, in partnership with Paragon One! This experience has been invaluable, and I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to gain real-world experience in a professional setting. During my internship, I had the chance to: 1) Develop my skills in competitive analysis, allowing me to gain a deeper understanding of market trends and competive strategies. 2) Refine my research capabilities, learning how to effectively gather and synthesize information to support my personal recommendations. 3) Master the art of time management, juggling multiple high stake projects while meeting deadlines efficiently. I'd like to express my sincere gratitude to Scott Sears, Erin Brooks, Ashni Shah, and Dipesh Mittal for their mentorship and guidance throughout this internship. Their support and expertise have been instrumental in my professional growth. I'm excited to see what the future holds and leverage the skills I gained at PwC in my future endeavors. #PwC #Extern #Internship #CompetitiveAnalysis #Research #TimeManagement #ThankYou

Today our Corporate & Institutional Group summer analysts had the privilege of hearing from our Chairman & CEO at Truist Securities Thomas Hackett!! Thank you for your time today, Tom, and thank you for reminding us that: 1. We are perfectly imperfect and we shouldn’t be ashamed to talk about it. 2. We should humble ourselves and acknowledge what we don’t know and then ask questions to achieve an understanding. 3. In life we should focus on building relationships…not transactions. 4. Connecting what we do to our purpose (whether personal or professional) is so important. 5. Putting more energy into understanding instead of being misunderstood is vital to our success. 6. We are not happy because we are successful…we are successful because we’re happy. 7. Always DO THE RIGHT THING!! These words of advice are greatly appreciated and our interns will take these tips with them as they complete the last few weeks of their internship as well as the last year of their college matriculation.
