#BoMFAtlanta celebrated the 4th of July at the world's largest 10k - The Peachtree Road Race in Atlanta!
We had our biggest group yet, with just under 100 members, alumni, and volunteers. Despite the heat, the energy was electric and the fun was unstoppable!
Swipe to see our amazing team in action, spreading smiles and positivity all along the course. Thank you to everyone who showed up and made this day unforgettable!

An experiment was conducted to see if greyhounds could compete with the speed of a cheetah.
When the cages opened, folks were shocked that the cheetah didn't move. They asked the race coordinator what had happened and why the cheetah didn’t move.
His response:
“Sometimes trying to prove that you're the best is an insult to your self-worth.
There is no need to lower yourself to other people’s level to make them understand your skills, qualities and contributions.
It is better to save your energy for more worthy endeavours.
A cheetah uses its speed to hunt, not to prove to dogs that it is faster and stronger.
Don't waste your time and energy proving your value to folks who simply don’t possess the skill set to appreciate your value and worth. Move on.”

Hard work pays off. And you can have fun doing it!
Our float in the Christmas parade won first prize!🏆
A team of over 30 volunteers in the Emerald Isle Sea Turtle Patrol (EISTP) spent over a month designing and building a float for this year's parade.
Why?
👉 Because it was fun!
👉 Because play is important for wellbeing.
👉 Because working on a project together builds community!
👉 Because it brought together volunteers in our 250 member EISTP in the "off season" of sea turtle conservation to keep us connected with one another.
In work and in life, you have to put in the time and the reps to reap the rewards.
💯 To sellers, this looks like:
➡️Building relationships with stakeholders, prospective buyers, and colleagues at work that may or may not be on your team (but whose influence might be critical in closing a large deal).
➡️Connecting people to move business forward.
➡️Being a guide to buyers to help them navigate the buying journey.
➡️Listening on LinkedIn to what your target audience is saying and engaging to ensure others know what makes you (and your company) different.
➡️Celebrating wins with your team!
🔁Repeat.
Work hard and play hard.
You might win first prize!
And you might not.
But you will have built relationships to carry you into the next competition.

## World Braille Day 2024: A celebration of touch and vision!
What if you could read with your fingers, write with your hands, and see with your mind? What if you could explore the world of words beyond the limits of sight? What if you could experience the beauty and power of braille?
Today, we celebrate #WorldBrailleDay, a day to raise #awareness of the vital role that #braille plays in education, freedom, and social inclusion. Braille is a tactile system of writing that uses six raised dots to represent letters, numbers, and symbols. It enables millions of people to read and write independently, access information, and express their thoughts and opinions. It is more than just a code. It is a tool for empowerment, literacy, and inclusion. It opens up opportunities for education, employment, and participation in society. It fosters creativity, culture, and personal development. It enriches the lives of blind and partially sighted people and their communities.

The March Episode of Wally Life is now on YouTube!
Lake Wallenpaupack is a big part of recreational life in the Pocono Mountains. A hundred years ago this summer, the construction of the Dam on the Wallenpaupack River formed Lake Wallenpaupack. Several men died while building the dam, some under mysterious circumstances. To create Lake Wallenpaupack, communities were demolished, cemeteries moved, schoolhouses razed, and Native American burial grounds were all submerged under the new lake. Join us as we explore the construction of the Wallenpaupack Dam project.
March is Women's History month and we take a look at the news making headlines in 1925 which read "A Town That Is Run by Women". The story made national news that summer and was unheard of in the Untied States at the time. The Pocono Town that created National Headlines was Lackawaxen, Pennsylvania, where in 1925, almost every business was run by women. Hotels, restaurants, butcher shops, cigar stores, clothing stores, movie theater, taxis, tour services, Post Office, milk and mail delivery routes and more. We salute the women of 1925, who were decades ahead of their time in the United States.
Lacawac Sanctuary has a long history in the Pocono Mountains. From it's connections to the creation of Lake Wallenpaupack to being the first second home in the Poconos Mountains and quite possibly the Pocono's first vacation property for rent. Lacawac is not only a great place to explore but it is also an important scientific resource known for being the most southern protected glacial lake in the United States formed during the Ice Age. This segment is part 2 of a 4 part series written and narrated by Chad Reed Watres, the great grandson of Colonel Watres, who had the original idea to dam the Wallenpaupack River to harness the Hydroelectric potential of the river to power local rail transportation. Part 2 covers the History of Lacawac in the early 20th century. Stay tuned for the additional segments of the series coming up next month.
