So honored to work alongside Tamika Auguste MD FACOG and the amazing caregivers at MedStar Washington Hospital Center as they improve birth equity and the lives of the underserved in DC!
MedStar Washington Hospital Center has earned national recognition for our work to address and improve birth equity in Washington, D.C.’s underserved neighborhoods, specifically in Wards 7 and 8, where infant mortality rates are twice the city's average. America's Essential Hospitals awarded the 2024 Gage Award for Population Health to our Women’s and Infants’ Services team for their initiatives to increase access to prenatal and postpartum care and early interventions for adverse social determinants of health, and decrease the number of patients experiencing birthing complications. As a result of these interventions, we have seen a clear increase in patients accessing multiple healthcare services, which led to improved health outcomes. We’re so proud of our team committed to making positive, sustainable change in maternal and infant health outcomes. Learn more. http://ms.spr.ly/6046YAeWp
