(One month to go!) It's official: on 30 June, Roeselare's new town hall will open its doors. Today the enormous construction site is still ongoing, but every day 150 professionals are working on the finishing touches to this sustainable project. From this summer, visitors will enter the town hall via the new atrium on the Grote Markt. The large, airy reception area is a real eye-catcher in our design that immediately links the new buildings with the historical part, which has also been fully restored. And then, of course, there is the beautiful new inner garden, which will be a publicly accessible, green oasis in the city. - Find out more about the progress that is being made on the construction site here: https://lnkd.in/gxYVfRmQ - Client: stad Roeselare In collaboration with: Bressers Erfgoed, Arcadis, Atelier Arne Deruyter Photos: B-architecten . . . #barchitecten #roeselare #architecture #belgianarchitecture #belgium #architectuur #architect #archilovers #welovearchitecture #instarchitecture #instaarch #contemporaryarchitecture #archdaily #archidaily #dezeen #architizer #divisare #architecturematters #afasiaarchzine #yellowtrace #architecturephotography #architecturelovers #design #renovation #opening #almostthere

The project includes energy upgrades and consolidation of the structure, with a new extension contrasting the materiality and architectural form of the existing stone structure. The new structure stands out with its bright new cladding, while the old building remains a tangible relic from the past. The material difference between the two structures helps clarify the hierarchy and construction period, with the new larch wood cladding gradually blending in with the context. Unveiling “Shivalaya,” where architecture converses with the divine. Nestled in Nandurbar, this 1080 sq ft bungalow transcends its spatial limits, expressing the sacred ‘Shiva Lingam’ through its curvilinear form. Clad in mint stone, the facade reflects the purity and resilience associated with Lord Shiva, while the stone louvers provide a rhythmic interplay of light and shadow, crafting a serene ambience within. Every curve is intentional, contributing to the dialogue between the celestial and the earthly. In the tradition of Foster’s belief in ‘doing more with less,’ “Shivalaya” stands as an emblem of sustainability — its terraced gardens and integrated greenery invite nature into urban living spaces. This project is a marriage of cultural symbolism and innovative architecture, offering a sanctuary that is both a nod to tradition and a stride into the future of design. “Shivalaya” is not just a residence; it is a philosophy carved in stone, an ode to the eternal within the ephemeral. #Architecture #InnovativeDesign #Sustainability #GreenBuilding #ModernSanctuary #CulturalSymbolism #ShivaLingam #SacredSpaces #ArchitecturalPhilosophy #FosterAndPartners

Today´s project involves an architectural waterfall specially designed to be integrated into an amphitheatre zone. Although limitless shapes and water textures are flooding my mind right now, aiming for the best artistic integration, I know that the best solution will emerge after understanding all the limitations and technical challenges of the project. This constant dialogue between technical restrictions and possible solutions is what generates the magical solutions, and that is where I love to be! #sustainability #water #waterfeatures #experience #fountaindesign #fountains #humanscale #cities #publicrealm #publicspace #urbandesign #urbanism #placemaking #landscaping #architecturedepaysage #paesaggio #paisaje #paysage #paisagem #peyzaj #smartcities #lighting #landscapearchitecture #conceptdesign #architecture #publicart #sculpture #park #hospitality #placemaking #engage #betterworld #people #oase #oaselivingwater #livingwater

Old Sana’a: The Environment Friendly City Based on scientific principles of the environmental design, the buildings of the old city of Sana'a were built centuries ago to resist the effects of climate, thermal insulation, and also to ensure the durability and stability of the buildings. Moreover, the uniquely featured houses were designed to follow the movement of the sun and air to obtain good lighting and natural ventilation. Furthermore, the Yemeni architects, when constructing Sana’a buildings, adopted the vertical construction style with a height of 4-6 floors in a compact cubic shape. Amazingly, most of the old buildings of Sana’a were built facing south in order to receive the largest possible amount of sunlight during the winter. More: https://lnkd.in/eH5nzSj

As we all know, nowadays, the appreciation of heritages is merely an aesthetic consciousness rather than knowing the value of the heritage sites or shreds of evidence. #urbanplanning #urbandesign #construction #landscapearchitecture #interior

FOUNTAIN OF THE FIRST CONCERNS (MEDITATION PARK) From time to time, we face exciting opportunities to create unique water features related to more subtle and abstract themes, such as the "fountain of the first concerns", which aims to express a specific time in life, the youth, where we all face the first concerns and learn how to overcome them. This fountain concept is part of a group of 17 unique fountains, all different in terms of water effects and purposes, intending to express different stages of life, from birth to death, carefully integrated inside a meditation park. #meditation #water #waterfeatures #experience #fountaindesign #fountains #fountainpark #humanscale #cities #publicrealm #publicspace #urbandesign #urbanism #placemaking #landscaping #sketching #sketchbook #sketch #freehand #drawings #architecturedepaysage #paesaggio #paisaje #paysage #paisagem #peyzaj #smartcities #lighting #landscapearchitecture #conceptdesign #architecture #architect #design #art #publicart #sculpture #archdaily #park #hospitality #heritage #people #oase #oaselivingwater #livingwater

The Pavillon de l’Esprit Nouveau, originally built in Paris back in 1925, was recreated in Bologna half a century later. Designed by Swiss architects Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret, the model home consists of a white geometric box intersected by a courtyard tree that passes through an open hole in the attic. The design was an antithesis of the popular art-deco style in the 1920s, choosing to address human needs over ornamentation. For a living space that welcomes the human need to connect with nature, visit the link in our bio. . . . #residential #propertydevelopment #property #realestate #propertyinvestment #propertyinvestor #propertydeveloper #propertymanagement #interiordesign #propertyforsale #architecture #investment #construction #properties #crowngroup #amazingarchitecture

✴️ #Architecture | Cyprus Vernacular Today we embark on a magical journey to explore the charming Cyprus Vernacular architectural style. A style that's more than just bricks and mortar; a profound connection to tradition and nature. This style embraces warm and earthy tones, local natural materials like stone, timber, and terracotta tiles, but above all, a deep appreciation for the land it stands on. Authenticity in its purest form! Now what makes this style so special? For starters, let's start from the inspiration taken from many traditional Cypriot houses organized around a central courtyard. This feature helps with cooling during the hot seasons and also provides a private outdoor space for residents and their guests - a space where you can enjoy life! 🟠 It's a harmonious blend of architectural genius, environmental wisdom, and culture, inviting you to embrace the outdoors like never before. Now let's move to arches - a common feature either in doorways, windows, or both. They add character to the buildings and are often seen as a nod to the island's Byzantine and Venetian influences. A glimpse into the island's rich history with every step you take. The same goes for the intricate stonework and the widespread use of wood. Except for adding character and keeping the home cool during Cyprus's scorching summers, these elements provide a deep sense of connection to the island's diverse cultural heritage. They are more than architectural features; they are a living testament to the island's history. 🟠 Now in modern times, we architects often draw inspiration from traditional design principles, while incorporating modern construction techniques and materials for more sustainable and efficient buildings. The glorious past guides the bright future - and we create unique spaces that are as functional as they are beautiful! #morphearchitects #morphecy #vernaculardesign #architecture #vernaculararchitecture #architectureinspiration #homedesign #architecturaldesign #arquitectura #homeinspiration #cyprus
