#Innovation doesn't happen without innovators. It's not about finding new bright ideas, having all the processes in place, or technology. It's about people who are passionate about what they do and want to drive change. 🚀 This was my first Sonar ever, and I totally loved it! Music, innovation, and creativity. It felt like home, from the day sessions about #AI and #Web3 to the night sessions with amazing DJs. I basically lived in the Sonar village for the past three days. 🤖 We can see the effects of AI in nearly every vertical of art, especially digital art. Opinions were controversial. Anna Carreras, a creative coder and digital artist, shared her take on new forms of popular art by comparing Andy Warhol's Campbell's Soup Cans displayed at MoMA to NFT exhibitions in places Superchief Gallery NY. 🤡 The issue of artwork authenticity is not new but has been a challenge in traditional art as well. We even have galleries that display "Genuine Fakes." The skill set required to determine and preserve originals in digital art is different and must keep up with the evolving industry, as elaborated by Florian Weigl from @V2_ and Patrícia Falcão from TATE. 👾 Unlike traditional generative art, AI-generated art is not produced with an explicit set of programming instructions provided by human artists. The summit offered perspectives from both sides. Varvara Guljajeva and Mar Canet Sola from @Varvara & Mar: Creative Studio talked about how quickly the tools have changed over the years, from the first GANs to Midjourney and Stable Diffusion. I especially admired their artwork "A Needle in a Haystack." This project serves as a provocative exploration of technology’s limits and challenges the notion of artificial intelligence as a mysterious, all-powerful ‘black box’. In this case, will the robot achieve its task faster than a human? All in all, Sonar was full of prototypes, experiments, ideas, and, of course, great music. I'll definitely come back! GTM, product-market fit, upcoming regulations, and Bitcoin ETFs were among the many topics discussed at Proof of Talk in Paris. In the world of airdrops and social media followers, we tend to assume the total number of transactions would qualify as a north star metric. But is it? In Web3, activations acquired through airdrops are often dumped immediately, even if users really like the project. The motivation we’re giving them is primarily to make a profit. Personally, I'm not a fan of airdrops. Have you ever staked an airdrop or received benefits other than just making a profit? I'm curious what makes you feel you're getting your buck and/or time's worth for user acquisition costs. Thank you for the insightful talk that made us question our metrics. From scarcity & speculation to utility & community. That's what we're trying to achieve with Busker. In every chance we get, we repeat the fact that Busker is not only about its tech we use but its community. You can ask the "how" to Emirhan Burak Yüce. Although it's safe to say that if the infrastructure wasn't constantly improving thanks to foundation builders, we wouldn't be able to focus on creating better UX and onboarding non-crypto natives. It was sheer luck to find possibly the most relevant icebreaker question in our seats, but it wasn't just luck that got Hotbed's #founderscamp cohort where they are now. McKelvey | WeWork shared his perspective on prioritizing a customer-centric approach in his startup, emphasizing the importance of trusting founders' instincts when embarking on new journeys—a sentiment that resonated with me very much. Stella Smith | pirkx offered valuable insights into building and iterating quickly while ensuring remote team members from all over the world feel connected without compromising geographical diversity. Perdie Alder and Margaret Anne Coyle's, presenting 20 tips in 20 minutes, was impressively efficient. One standout tip was 'If it's not a 'hell yes,' it's a 'no,'' crucial advice for managing multiple priorities and striving for success. Beth Carter and Rosie Hoggmascall stressed the significance of growth for startups, noting that founders often serve as the initial growth officers. From the investor panel led by Dan Bowyer | SuperSeed, Olamide Ogunrinola | Octopus Ventures, Sam Marchant | Hambro Perks we learned that consistency and healthy amount of persuasive communication are vital when engaging with investors. Siddhi Mittal | yhangry emphasized the importance of communication with super-users, highlighting its invaluable role. Hiring based on the principle of 'If it's not a 'hell yes,' it's a 'no'' can lead to significant costs. It's essential to invest ample time in finding the right teammates—a lesson reiterated to us once more, especially nowadays as Busker is determined to find it's next rockstar.
