Self-discovery, Self-recovery Thank you for all outreach and PEP! Since my Florida experience I honestly haven’t wanted to talk to anyone that I wasn’t physically present with. I’ve gone deep trying to understand me. I now know there are 3 levels to understanding something (me in this case): 1. Understanding at an intellectual level: this was easy for me, but didn’t really drive any behavior change 2. Understanding at an emotional level: this was harder for me, but when I got my diagnosis, I started this process 3. Really understanding at a visceral/being level: until I thought I was losing everything in Florida, I didn’t even know this level existed You know in a job interview, a frequent question is what are your weaknesses? You always give an answer that either is a throwaway weakness or can be interpreted as a strength. What I now viscerally understand about myself: 1. I was a non-confrontational people pleaser: I put other people at the center and would forgo something for myself to avoid confrontation. I gave so much of myself that there was no energy/protection/recovery for me 2. I can and should be angry sometimes: throughout my many roles, I always got feedback that I was so calm under pressure and kept my composure during the most trying situations. What I didn’t realize was I never processed that anger and simply buried it 3. I want to control (everything): I believed with enough perseverance I can navigate any situation. I didn’t need any help. While I now know I need help more than ever with what I am facing, candidly I still believe I have a lot of agency about my diagnosis even now (and won’t stop) While the process of self-discovery continues, I now understand: I am imperfect, I am fragile, I am human. Thank you for all the birthday wishes! What do I want for my birthday? hmmmmm........ Without being demanding or trying to make anyone feel like they need to, I would like to spend time with my friends. The only thing I have ever wanted was to find people who wanted to build things with me. Spending time with friends is great, but it gets a little boring when it is all recreation. What I want, what I always wanted, was to work with a group of people to create something to help other people create what they wanted. How easy is it to just start a group and start creating what the group wants? It's not that easy is it...... Wouldn't that be something that would help people grow closer? And create what they needed for each other and their communities? Wouldn't it be nice to empower people to create what they want for themselves and their friends? I have never wanted business relationships. I have only wanted friends. You treat your friends the same way you treat yourself. You support them when they feel like they need to be supported. You forgive them if they feel like they need to be forgiven. You make sure that they understand that they have just as much worth as you. Not more, and not less. You work hard and play hard. To me, creating with a group of friends is what all of us want to do. We don't have to carry the burdens of other people, only empower them to create whatever it is they want to create for themselves and whatever friends they like to hang out with. Doesn't this sound like a better idea than what we have going on right now? Just a birthday wish I guess...

I don't know what Fridays are supposed to look like. I don't believe in "supposed to___". When I stepped out of the box some years ago, it dissolved. There is no box. A business doesn't need to look a certain way. There is no such thing as business dress - it's a construct. An entrepreneur doesn't need to hustle or be salesy or "get ahead of the competition". There is no competition. Every business has a different flavour and resonates with a different person. You get to BE you. I get to BE me. We get to breathe to our own individual rhythms. We get to embody peace and freedom and kindness and Love in the way it feels good for us. We get to BE together on our beautiful Mother Earth with different ideas, opinions, strengths and desires. We get to gather at our collective table, our world, and gift ourselves as we are, to our collective, appreciative of the gifts we receive from one another. Thank you for BE-ing at our collective table. Let's break bread and share conversation, celebrating our common desire to UN-become who we are not and live the individual truths that are in our hearts. Pick up the talking stick and share what's in your heart. I'm listening...

I do not know if you desire to loop from container to container. That is what I did for so long. And it did not click. I felt unhappy. Unfulfilled. Confused. Every mentor, coach, and healer I worked with saw something else in me. I am super grateful for all the support. However, deep down I knew that there MUST be more. The ONE who plugs energy leaks in your business. Coming home to me was a BLESSING. Going from STRESS to overFLOW is just magical. Thank you to everyone who: Kicked me while I was down - you taught me how to stand on my own two feet. Didn't believe in me - you taught me how to believe in myself. Told me I would fail - you taught me that failure isn't an option. Didn't show up for me when I needed you to - you taught me how to show up for myself. Said I wasn't good enough - you taught me how to discover and quantify the value that I bring to the table. Told me I couldn't do something I wanted to do - you taught me that as long as my mind and my heart are all in, the possibilities are infinite. Rejected me - you've taught me how to find validation and acceptance within myself. Accepted and loved me unconditionally - you've taught me the value of genuine friendship, connection, and belonging. I am not, and I will never be... Perfect. But this is what I do know: If I strive for greatness, to be better than I was yesterday, to continuously learn new things with an open mind to also allow myself the acceptance that my views, my values, and my beliefs could change as I continue to learn and to transform... If I live and love vulnerably, unconditionally, unapologetically, and genuinely, no matter what I get wrong along the way, at least I was getting it wrong while trying to figure out how to get it right. I am going to mess up, I am going to fail, I am going to have shortcomings. But that's what it is to be in the arena, and I am ready for whatever comes next.

Thank you to all those that wished me for my birthday. I really appreciate all the good wishes. I have to be honest, I lost my mojo a bit over the past few months. Multiple factors contributed, work, mental, emotional, stress etc, just like multiple solutions have contributed to getting me out of it. That is key! If a problem or challenge has been building for a while there is usually more than one contributing factor, and therefore we need to consider multiple solutions. That is why a quick fix (or a MacGuver solution) won’t last. Every factor may need its own solution and it may not work in the time as the others. In my case, booking a new diving trip helped with some aspects, while actually asking people for help was the solution for others. So be open to considering other solutions, it may take more than one magic pill to properly address what ails you.

You believe the negative words they speak. So why don’t you believe the positive ones? When you think about it, it’s completely irrational behavior: you either trust them or you don’t, and if you do trust them, then why would you question their kindnesses? Deep down, you might not believe that you actually deserve their kind words. If that’s the case, here’s a perspective shift to consider: sometimes, other people can see you more clearly than you can see yourself. Prove this to yourself by thinking about one of your own friends or loved ones who does not see their own strengths. They fret about their appearance—but all you see is their beauty. They dismiss their contributions—but all you see is their impact. You try so hard to get through to them (“You’re wonderful, you’re gorgeous, you’re doing so well!”) and yet they never seem to really hear you. Could the same be true for you? Perhaps those people offering you compliments are trying to help you see yourself. Perhaps you just need to trust them. Perhaps you need to let their words in so that you can start to feel, deep down, that you are deserving of their kindness. Because that is the truth—you are.
