Yesterday's panel with TalentEdge was a great opportunity to talk about all things leadership in disrupted times with a fantastic panel.
A quick summary of the more hotly contested topics:
Does the way we lead need to change in the tough times?
Frankly, it depends on your current baseline, but if your business already lacks open comms and transparency then it only gets harder when times get tougher.
What will happen with hybrid working?
It's here to stay, but the shape will vary by organisation/industry and there isn't a one-size-fits-all. One point of overriding consensus was that if your only reason to mandate office time is a lack of trust around productivity then frankly you're fixing the wrong problem.
What impact will AI have?
There was no doubt in the room that AI will create seismic changes in the world of work and we should ignore it at our peril. The debate is one of when that change will come and if the impact will be in low-value, highly repetitive task automation or at the other end of the spectrum in complex specialist functions that previously required senior expert resources.
A huge thank you from everyone here at TalentEdge & Talentarc to our amazing panellists who made today's event - C-Suite Challenges: Effective Leadership in Disrupted Times - such a fantastic success.
Mark Cuddigan, Karen Hilton, James Connelly, Ruth Kieran & Paul Marsh, (moderated by our very own Tracy Flowerday) generously shared their experiences and insights with our audience of C-suite leaders.
They talked about the challenges of leading in difficult times, managing a hybrid workforce and how AI will impact their businesses.
We've already had some incredibly positive feedback from many of the people that attended this morning. If you weren't at the event and would like to find out more about what we discussed please do get in touch with me for the takeaways document that will be available shortly.
