VidCon was LUCRATIVE for my business: * $300,000+ in closed consulting revenue * $20,000 in event hosting revenue * 23 client leads for follow up The profit margin I keep from that revenue is fairly low, but it's still a fantastic ROI from a single conference! Our VIP Creator party had a few dozen Creators whose audiences totaled over 200,000,000 followers... And the best cocktails of any VidCon party, full stop. Thanks to * SuperBam (Rian R. Bosak) * Storygrounds (Andrew N. Green) * super.fans (Fernando Parnes) * Towerhouse (Parker Jones) for co-hosting and sponsoring the party! I'll be adding 128 new emails - the majority of which are million-scale Creators - to my Creator Logic reader list. I hosted 3 panels, swapped 2 panelists due to illness, and only got the wrong start time for 1 (but made it and actually missed 0). (Tagging all the fantastic Creator and executive panelists who joined me in the photos below - thank you all so much!) I love VidCon! I hope whoever buys it give it the glow up it deserves. I also learned quite a bit of interesting intel over coffees, cocktails, and late night conversations. Good stuff Avi, so great to see you there. Congrats on your success and love your insight. I agree about formats and TV shows and Hollywood. But (and I talk more about this in my newsletter), remember that entertainment creators are just a portion of the overall group of successful creators on VidCon. There's a place for the YouTubization of Hollywood but also a place for everyone else. Formats may replace personalities for SOME types of content, but for others, expertise, ability to connect, passion, personality, value and inspiration are just as important. And those aren't going to be 22-minute episodes with 6 minutes of commercial breaks.
