I had the privilege of joining the 2nd Annual Ukrainian Energy Transition Forum on May 31, 2024, in London. In my session, we discussed urgent investments in Ukraine’s energy system, integration with European markets, as well as the need to develop longer term approaches to support Ukraine’s green reconstruction at scale, like the World Bank Group’s ReNew Ukraine Initiative. My colleague, Tonci Bakovic, spoke eloquently in Session 2 about the importance of battery energy storage solutions (BESS) for Ukraine, not just to improve the resilience of the system but also to facilitate increased exports of renewable energy from Ukraine to the EU. #EnergyTransition #UkrainianEnergy #Sustainability
