IEC (Electoral Commission of South Africa) , you had so few things to coordinate and so long to plan. Why are there no ballet boxes at Orange Grove Primary School voting station yet, you are 30 minutes late and apparently its not the only station without?. One of your few roles is to encourage voters.. #noexcuses #reputationmatters #credibilityisimportant #getyouracttogether

During the European Fair Play Congress with a main theme of 'Fair Play Education to Overcome Racism in Sport,' I had the privilege to address the participants. It was my pleasure to present six years of cooperation through a Memorandum of Understanding signed by the European Fair Play Movement and the International Dance Organization. The achievements of the past years are just a beginning, setting the stage for continued cooperation in promoting the principles and values of Fair Play. #Baku #Azerbaijan #november #congress2023

#UEFA #ChampionsLeague is set to change from 24/25. Not only is the number of teams increasing from 32 to 36, resulting in 64 added matches but it also results in increased payouts to the participating teams. Reports indicate the total prize money to be distributed among all the teams will go up from €2 billion to €2.5 billion. We list the payout change highlights in the attached infographic. The interesting thing would be English clubs would receive an additional lump sum based on the value of their TV market and previous history in European competition. So much so that maximum an English club could earn (if an English team wins) would be €155m/£133m. Compare it to the 22/23 winners #ManchesterCity receiving £117m. Question can be asked if this could potentially lead to an increasing financial gap over those who are not in the Champions League Or Would this lead to an increased competitiveness in domestic leagues with the bigger goal of reaching Champions League stage.

Founder/Chair/Coach at Crawley Old Girls (COGs) Owner CGB Decorating Services. Run mascots at Crawley Town FC.
When these memories come up, it’s great to see how far things have come. At the EFL Season Launch, in 2018, I spoke about Women’s Rec. Football and how it was growing. It was growing steadily at that time but not to the extent that has been seen in the last year or so, with the investment from The FA and Sport England, through the UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 Legacy Programme. The EFL Trust was so important in funding our first sessions, in 2015 and there are now a few more CCOs who run Women’s Rec. programmes but we should not stop until every EPL & EFL Club are giving opportunities to women, like this. Ask your local club if they are providing Women’s Rec. Football and if not, why not? I saw a fantastic video from Brentford Football Club the other day from their “Thousands of Stories” feature and that should inspire other clubs further. https://lnkd.in/epS9eEa9 So many women now have the opportunity to play but there are still plenty more opportunities to be made. There is funding out there too, so not just professional football clubs but grassroots clubs can also make a difference. Let’s hope it continues on the same trajectory. https://lnkd.in/e6PBDJnM

The Network of Latin American Cities for Sports and Development (Red D+D), led by UNESCO, celebrates the International Month of Physical Activation and Sports with the collaboration of ACES America. The Consortium of Cities, which come together to develop sports policies, for an increasingly active, cohesive and inclusive citizenship, wishes to celebrate with an intense month-long program for the two International Days that the United Nations dedicates to Sports, to Health and Peace (April 6-7). This annual event, in its First Edition, wants to establish itself as a great opportunity to promote the importance of physical exercise and sports in our communities, as well as to encourage citizen participation in healthy and fun activities. The results and participation within the D+D Network are extraordinary: 19 Cities | States involved (including 7 National Capitals). 10 Countries (Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Peru, Uruguay). 277 Events (various sports) registered. An extraordinary success, an ideal prologue for the 2nd Edition of the American Week of Sports of ACES America (23-30 September): together with Red de Ciudades Deporte y Desarrollo en América Latina and with the slogan #ActivateAmerica! - https://lnkd.in/dBK63GyH
