What brings you to the Automate Show? That's the question I am asked when I attend automate. As a #panel_builder I go to see the latest in panel components such as terminals and push buttons. As an #integrator, I go to see the latest in hardware from manufacturers like Banner Engineering, Festo, Phoenix Contact, and many more. As a #business_owner breaking into the automation world I go to develop business connections. However, as a #father, I go to open the world of automation and engineering to my oldest daughter who will be starting the next phase of her education by attending university as a 1st year mechanical engineering student. Sarah really enjoyed the show, with this being her second time. She loves the swag but as she proudly told me on the flight home, she was so happy to tell people that she was going to be going to university for engineering. She also loved to see other ladies in the engineering world such as Amber Wilborne and 🐆 Cathy Rinne. Next year in Detroit, I will be back with Sarah, and also 2 other kids of mine, Hannah and Michael, all who are interested in this crazy world of automation and engineering. If you want to influence and have young ones in your life, even if they are not biologically yours, influence them in a rewarding career like ours.
