Are you paying attention? Don't think those massive layoffs happening all over the place are truly just about "rebalancing". It is not a coincidence! They are quietly cutting down on human workforce and not replacing it, despite higher volume of business and high profitability. Open your eyes. Start appreciating the implications of mass AI adoption. Get ready. And while you're at it, start educating yourself on UBI, as that's going to be THE only political conversation in the near future.

Innovation leader who drives meaningful differentiation/disruption by inspiring and guiding cross functional teams to dream big, collaborate and chart the course for change.
From resetting to restarting ... After being part of a round of layoffs, I took some time to reset. It was an emotional and physical necessity - and a financial privilege to be sure. Over the past two months I connected with friends and family, hiked, swam in mountain lakes, SUP-ed, read, napped, did some home maintenance and played pickleball. But the most important thing that happened was I felt fully present and relaxed wherever I was. I was able to fully listen and engage. No urge to check text or email. No sense that I should be doing something else. No anxiety about cramming it all in. No Sunday scaries. If I had one wish for everyone on this platform it is that they could have a break like that. After working for over 28 years straight (including my early years as a taxi driver and fast food worker) I had the savings and safety net to do it. I understand I am lucky but I wish we lived in a society where all workers got that kind of break. But with more warning and control than I had ;) I'm ready to ideate, create, innovate and collaborate again. With renewed energy and also a stronger sense of what I want my life to look like. Which is to have challenging work, creativity, play, outdoor adventure and days of nothing but being. It's possible. If you know of an opportunity that may be a good fit for me - including contract work - drop me a line.
