Today marks a momentous occasion as we broke ground on our brand new final assembly facility! The infrastructure expansion, which will be to the south of Austal USA’s current waterfront facility, will include a new assembly building, waterfront improvements, and a new shiplift system. Austal USA was proud to receive two safety awards from Shipbuilders' Council of America (SCA) at the SCA Spring meeting this year, further cementing the company's superior safety reputation. This makes a total of three industry safety awards Austal USA employees earned in 2023 .

We were honored to host Rear Admiral Amy Grable, CG-4, Assistant Commandant for Engineering and Logistics, on a tour of our Mobile, Ala. shipyard facilities yesterday. RDML Grable received briefings on our latest projects and capabilities and witnessed firsthand our commitment to innovation and quality in shipbuilding for the U.S. Coast Guard and US Navy.

We’re excited to announce the official start of construction on the first of three Landing Craft Utility (LCU) vessels for the US Navy. The keel laying ceremony for LCU 1710 took place at our Mobile, Ala. shipyard this morning. These critical amphibious assets will play a vital role in supporting U.S. Navy & United States Marine Corps operations for years to come. Stay tuned for updates on the progress of LCU 1710 and its sister craft!

Today, we commemorate Juneteenth, a day that marks the end of slavery in the United States. It’s a day to reflect on the struggles for freedom and equality. At Austal USA, we value our diversity and promote an environment of inclusion for everyone.

We were privileged to welcome The Honorable Dr. Kevin Rudd AC, Australian Ambassador to the United States, to our Mobile, Ala. shipyard yesterday. We were able to discuss Austal USA’s role in supporting AUKUS pillar 1 and 2 and the unique capabilities of Austal to support AUKUS in both the US and Australia. We appreciate Ambassador Rudd’s continued leadership on AUKUS and his support of Austal!

We’re proud to announce the official start of construction on the future USNS James D. Fairbanks (T-ATS 13), the latest addition to the US Navy’s Navajo-class fleet! This versatile vessel will be built at our state-of-the-art Mobile, Ala. production facility using advanced manufacturing techniques for maximum efficiency.
