We have brought the 2nd Opportunity Program into the Jail in Forsyth County Georgia. Thank you to Sheriff Freeman for allowing us to make our courses available through your tablets. Thank you to Deputy Vash and Major Cash for inviting us to kickoff the program inside the facility. Thank you to 2nd Opp's Alasdair Ritchie, our Program Implementation Specialist, for the seamless integration of our content. Kickoffs are just one of the things we do to differentiate ourselves. Walking through, explaining the program and its benefits, the inspiration provided through The Path Forward Podcast, and our Post Release Support and Service are a part of the formula that has seen us expand into 24 states over the last 24 months. Kickoffs are special to me. To be able to explain the origin of the 2nd Opportunity Program, to share how I can relate to the feeling of incarceration, to shake hands and provide encouragement is one of the favorite parts of the work I do. Expanding into new facilities to widen our impact is what we strive for every day.

#mondaymotivation #potentialunleashed #breakfree My favourite TV series of all time is Prison Break. As we gear up for another productive week, I'm reminded of a powerful quote from this series that resonates deeply with me: "We are captives of our own identities. Living in prisons of our own creation." ~ T-Bag In our journey towards success and fulfillment, it's crucial to acknowledge that sometimes the biggest barriers we face aren't external, but internal. We build walls around ourselves based on our perceptions, fears, and limitations. These self-imposed prisons can hold us back from reaching our full potential. But here's the good news: just as characters in "Prison Break" fought relentlessly to break free from physical confinement we too have the power to shatter the constraints of our own making. It starts with self-awareness, recognizing the patterns and beliefs that limit us. Then, it's about taking courageous steps outside our comfort zones, challenging those limitations, and embracing growth. Here's to a week filled with breakthroughs and boundless potential!

Have you heard episode 7 of Just Conversations with Marius Smith CEO of Vacro This episode typifies the purpose of just conversations, I met Marius after calling VACRO out for posting about 150 years of working with people exiting prison. I suggested this was nothing to brag about. To his credit Marius reached out to me and we have regularly caught up in the best interest of our work since then. It’s very easy to point out what is wrong and the short comings of our punitive model. However agreeing on the difference and looking to find solutions fosters innovative evolution this is where Just Conversations aims to educate. What just conversations is about is finding solutions, understanding the value of difference and how to unlock the value of these differences. In this episode we discuss innovative ways of increasing community capacity and working with families impacted by the criminal justice system. Business Development Strategist and Leader | Proven Track Record of Increasing Sales and Marketing Performance
After a decade at Averhealth, I've gained a unique perspective on the challenges facing criminal justice laboratories and their impact on our courts. It's clear that many labs are falling short, potentially compromising the effectiveness of our justice system. However, there's hope. At Averhealth, we're setting a new standard: •Next business day results: We understand the critical nature of timely information in community corrections. •Elite technology: Our cutting-edge solutions ensure accuracy and reliability. •Unmatched customer service: We boast the largest and most experienced team in the industry. These aren't just claims – they're commitments we've consistently delivered on for years. To my colleagues in community corrections: Isn't it time we demanded more from our lab partners? The integrity of our justice system depends on it. Let's discuss how we can raise the bar together. #testdifferent Averhealth American Correctional Association American Probation and Parole Association
