Ideally everyone should take their fair share to develop a more sustainable ski industry. From the industry sports brands designing and proposing more durable products, helped by suppliers’ sustainable solutions, chosen and supported by retailers and operators. Most important, we professionals of the winter sports industry, must try to make our customers sensible to such benefits, in a positive way, with optimism (well expressed in the article). That choices and decisions made by final customers lead to a more sustainable skiing experience; making it possible for next generations to enjoy!

Atomic these insights are great guides for both teams designing and producing the gear and tech. How this is written also is a good intersection with consumers who strive to be conscious of their footprint while still making pragmatic decisions. Even within the Bcorp world, creating gear and services that are a force for good is complicated. The comments on having the skis, bindings, and boots be repairable and refurbished is key. Can gear perform well while still being repaired/upgraded. As one of your consumers, I would vote yes. As a brand, this could also drive greater engagement of your consumer. I buy your gear, sign up for your content, gain access to your DIY videos and learn what I can do self service vs at the shop. I buy the repair goods from you. The concept of more open side country with less mechanical assistance is also a great cross between reducing emissions while also changing the pace of the sport. Lift assist is amazing for many skiers but the market seems apparent to allow for controlled side country without mechanical assist. My hope is this would also reduce the expense of skiing as you can focus on earning your turns but in a safer environment than the actual BC.
