𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐳𝐞𝐫𝐨 𝐬𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐃𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝟏) The attached video is clearly showing that incase of through fault, Differential Relay installed on the Three Winding Transformer having unloaded tertiary winding will trip, if zero sequence filteration is disabled in the Differential Protection Relay settings. All the three sequence components of currents are equal in magnitudes in case of Single phase fault. So three arrows are taken to represent sequence component. Blue arrow is the zero sequence component. The video is also an evidence that a small parameter in the relay settings if not properly set, can cause above type of indiscriminate trippings which can jeopardize the stability of the power system as well.
