📢 We are pleased to share that our CEO, Santiago Seage, has taken part in an informative breakfast organised by Executive Forum España, along with Jorge Paradela, the Minister of Industry, Energy and Mines for Andalucia. Santiago Seage spoke about Atlantica's strong presence and growth plans in this region, which is our second largest market after the U.S. He also stressed the importance of storage and renewable gases as key drivers of the energy transition and thanked the Andalucian authorities for their support. During his speech, Jorge Paradela explained some of the measures that they are implementing to continue to boost economic and social development in Andalucia. Paradela explained that over the past five years Andalucia has doubled the amount of installed green electrical power, reaching almost 12 gigawatts (GW) and revealed that there are another 11 GW that are already authorised for construction. It was a great opportunity to exchange insights and perspectives with the Minister on the challenges and opportunities of the green economy in Andalucia. #WindEurope2024 ended for me with a packed room at Rystad Energy’s networking event in downtown Bilbao last week. Great to see so many participants where Carlos Palmitesta , Andrea Scassola and myself presented our views of the market in collaboration with the Basque Energy Cluster . Key takeaways of the conference: 1. Increased optimism in the European #wind industry as measures are being enacted by the European Commission, however year on year growth in wind slowed down in 2023 2. Introducing localization measures, setting non-price pre-qualification criteria in auctions, easing state aid regulations, and imposing import restrictions can aid Europe in reducing dependence on external supply chains and managing competitive pressures to a certain degree. However, these actions may also lead to higher costs for society due to decreased competitiveness. 3. And last but not least the food in the #Basque region is really really good! This week, Belgrade was the epicenter of energy transition leaders around the world. The Belgrade Energy Forum gathered more than 500 experts from various sectors dedicated to implementing the green agenda. However, I will share a personal impression. In February 2021., not really with my willingness but the understanding of the need for intervention, at the fundamental round table during the adoption of the first Law on the use of renewable energy sources, I had the task of representing the interests of power plants that are in an advanced stage of development. My voice shook so much that I couldn't finish every third word and stuttered every 4.5 seconds. I struggled with the task, but the congenital speech defect was a general impression and the subject of retelling among colleagues for a very long period after that. Lingual experts said with mild sympathy that a person with a speech defect, however, is not adequate for public speaking, especially in sectors at a highly professional level such as energy. On Tuesday, at the Belgrade Energy Forum, with respected colleagues I participated on the panel: "Do we manage to reach the goals for RES how we planned?". In four question sessions that lasted more than 70 minutes, I spoke fluently about the challenges of the new rules for connection to the transmission system, the necessity of a second round of auctions for projects that use renewable energy sources, as well as the decarbonization of the public sector through the current strategic partner model. I stuttered 3 times. This conference pointed out the progressiveness of the region on the most current energy topics and the challenges of 2021. served today as long-overdue historical data. It also pointed progressiveness of my public appearance, the one they said wouldn't be adequate. Thank you Branislava Jovicic and the platform Balkan Green Energy News for organization. And I want to thank all 86 colleagues who stayed to listen to the end the last panel of the second day. I am proud of the first league of regional energy sector! P.S. This is my first public performance I am satisfied with, hence the post 👸 #gogreen #speachdefect #leadership #womeninenergy #serbia

In an interview with ON ECONOMIA, Jordi Lopez Francesch, Member of the Board of Verdian, discusses the challenges and opportunities on the energy horizon in Catalonia. Is it possible for Catalonia to take control of its own energy destiny? Should energy decisions be in local hands or part of a broader, collaborative approach? 🔋 #RenewableEnergy | #Navarra demands the creation of “an environment of opportunities for #renewables” within an “Atlantic macro-region” 👉 The Vice-President of the region, Ana Ollo Hualde, made this request at the plenary session of the Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions (CPMR), held in #SaintMalo (#France) and “in view of the risk of the Atlantic areas losing influence in #Europe, where four macro-regions have already been set up”. “Its constitution would make it possible to generate opportunities for issues of special interest to Navarra, such as the development of renewable #windenergy or the promotion of #greenhydrogen, which are included in our Sustainable Strategy for Smart Specialisation (S4)”, she added. #InvestInNavarra 📲 https://lnkd.in/defMfnnv

🌞 We are proud to share an incredible achievement, the BRILHO programme has reached 2.2 million people with access to off-grid energy solutions. The BRILHO Programme has been a source of hope and progress for off-grid populations, providing access to renewable energy and transforming lives across in Mozambique. This milestone not only reflects our commitment to positive impact, but also demonstrates the 💪 power of the collaboration and dedication of our team and partners. As a way of reaching more Mozambicans with access to clean energy, SNV and the governments of the United Kingdom and Sweden have formalised the extension of the BRILHO programme until October 2026, with an additional contribution of £8.7 million, bringing the total funding for the programme to £38 million. This demonstration of international commitment and co-operation strengthens the resolve to achieve a greener, more prosperous world for present and future generations. The BRILHO Programme continues to light the way to a sustainable and inclusive future for all. 🤝 Together, we are transforming lives and making a difference on a significant scale towards the energy transition. Hydrogen Day at ENAGAS ➡️The "Dia del Hidrogeno" organised by Enagás took place in 🇪🇸Madrid for the second time. The importance of the topic was emphasised by opening speeches from the Executive Vice-President of the European Commission, Maroš Šefčovič, and the Spanish Minister for Ecological Transition, Teresa Ribera. In one of the panels - moderated by Jorgo Chatzimarkakis (Hydrogen Europe) - I was pleased to discuss the role of infrastructure in the development of a hydrogen economy together with Arturo Gonzalo Aizpiri (Enagas), maria rita galli (DESFA), Rodrigo Costa (REN), Pierre Duvieusart (GRTgaz) and Dominique Mockly (Teréga). The development of the H2Med corridor, which would enable the transport of green hydrogen from the Iberian Peninsula via France to Germany and is currently being developed jointly by Enagas, REN, Terega, GRTgaz and OGE. On the 🇩🇪German side, the construction of the "Hydrogen-Core grid” is essential. The layout of the “Core grid” and the concepts are prepared and discussed, but the legal and financial framework still needs to be fine-tuned and adapted to the requirements of the investors. We are optimistic that it can be achieved in the first half of 2024. Thanks to Enagas and Arturo Gonzalo Aizpiri for organising this event!
