In addition to her remarkable, trailblazing journey from a North Carolina dairy farm to an award-winning Eversource Energy CSO & author, some fun takeways included: 💡 "Exercise your mind & body every day" 💡 "Write, write, write....establish yourself as an expert" 💡 "Customer complaints are a gift" 💡 "Networking: do your research before walking into the room - know in advance who to connect with" But my favorite was regarding virtual meetings: "Dont look at yourself on the screen, instead look towards the green dot on top". Yes - As I try to keep pace in this fast moving industry, I must stay focused on the green dot. 🚦

Carbon capture and storage (CCS) has indeed been hailed as a promising solution to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and mitigate climate change. However, like any other technology, it has its pros and cons; PROS – Reduced CO2 Emissions, – Energy Security, – Job Creation CONS – High Costs. One of the major drawbacks of CCS is that is still has a relatively high cost. The technology requires significant investments in R&D, and infrastructure, which can be prohibitively expensive. – Energy Intensive. Some CCS technologies can also be an energy-intensive process. It requires a significant amount of energy to capture CO2 and transport it to storage facilities. – Environmental Risks. CCS involves the injection of CO2 into geological formations. While this can be an effective method for storing CO2, it also poses environmental risks, such as leakage or seepage into groundwater or the atmosphere. – Limited Scale. CCS is currently only being used on a limited scale. This is due to the high costs, technical challenges, and regulatory hurdles associated with the technology.
