✍ I've previously posted about how critically important it is to have a really solid tribe around you to help with career development, no matter at what stage of your career you are at. In earlier parts of my career I was guilty of not building and fostering a tribe to help me project myself forward, and I see many others make the same mistake, which is easy when we are busy with in work and out-of-work pursuits. Something that I talk about often in the coaching and leadership development partnerships that I deliver is the notion of a "Greatness Group"- that trusted inner-sanctum of support people to help you navigate career challenges, opportunities, setbacks and successes. For me, there are some really valuable roles to seek out for your own Greatness Group, everything from having a trusted Mentor, through to a 'Good Agitator' that is there to stretch your thinking and preconceptions.
