General Walt, with a simple truth. Yes, we need to talk about other causes of stress and military realities. But we absolutely have to talk about combat and proximity to it. Directly talk about it, and not shy away. Peacekeeping is a job we sometimes do. Forest fire fighting is a job we sometimes do. It is not who we are. We prepare for war, we plan for war, and at times conduct it. This makes people uncomfortable; even some in uniform. Everything else we can do is a byproduct of the one true aim.

We would like to hear people’s thoughts on an expansion of the Five Powers Defence Arrangements to include the entirety of The Commonwealth (or at least that which is amicable with the 5 powers themselves.) Do you believe that a full military pact between the Commonwealth nations? Were such a monumental pact to crystallise, what should be the terms. We’re interested to hear your thoughts. #defence #defenceindustry #defense #defenseindustry #military #alliance #internationalrelations #commonwealth

May is Military Appreciation Month, designated by Congress in 1999 to honor the service and sacrifice of America's service members and their families. Here, just a few stanzas from that Resolution: "Whereas the freedom and security that United States citizens enjoy today are results of the vigilant commitment of the United States Armed Forces in preserving the freedom and security; Whereas it is appropriate to promote national awareness of the sacrifices that members of the United States Armed Forces have made in the past and continue to make every day in order to support the Constitution and to preserve the freedoms and liberties that enrich the Nation; Whereas it is appropriate to underscore the vital support and encouragement that families of members of the United States Armed Forces lend to the strength and commitment of those members;" #FreedomIsntFree #MilitaryAppreciation #MilitaryAppreciationMonth #MilitarySupport #veteransupport #usnavy #USMC #marinecorps #usarmy #CoastGuard #nationalguard #landofthefreebecauseofthebrave #spaceforce

Warrior Diplomat 📜 | Advocate of Irregular Warfare 🥷| Challenging the Narrative ✍️| Fighting for Faith 📖
In the realm of geopolitics and international affairs, the decision to go to war is one of the gravest a nation can make, necessitating careful consideration and strategic foresight. 🤓 Before committing to any military campaign, it's imperative to establish a clear and achievable end state. This end state serves as the guiding beacon, outlining the objectives, desired outcomes, and post-conflict vision. Without a defined end state, military interventions risk becoming protracted, costly endeavors with uncertain trajectories and ambiguous conclusions. By meticulously defining the end goal from the outset, policymakers can ensure that military actions are purposeful, proportional, and aligned with broader national interests.💡 As a nation, we need to start advocating for the prioritization of strategic clarity and long-term planning in decision-making processes, recognizing that a well-defined end state is not just a strategic imperative but also a moral obligation in safeguarding lives and securing peace. 🕊️🌍 #StrategicPlanning #Peacebuilding #InternationalRelations #military #veteran #army #defense #war 🛡️📚 *** Image taken from Google ***

This may be seen as a political statement. It's not. It's a call for the removal of politics from a place where it doesn't belong. Politics needn't be a part of every aspect of life. Effectiveness in purpose and loyalty to the essential should be the focus not just of the armed forces, but firms, people, and the world in general. In the case of the armed forces specifically, their function isn't political but national. They exist to fight for King and Country, to fight no more for one political party than the other. Inherently, while defence is a politicised issue, the fundament of the military is apolitical. As in a lot of cases, it's not a trivial concept, nor an intelligent idea to politically play with the very bedrock upon which our nation is built, maintained, and protected (without which, society is razed.) Bravo to these men for recognising it all, and having the (militarily instilled) selfless commitment to put themselves forth, respect for others (whether that be the nation or their fellow service-men,) loyalty to Britain, integrity of principle, discipline in action, and courage to speak up. #defence #defenceindustry #defense #defenseindustry #military #armedforces #raf #royalairforce #royalnavy #rn #army #britisharmy #godsavetheking

On December 13, 1636, the General Court of the Massachusetts Bay Colony issued an order requiring all able-bodied men between the ages of 16 and 60 to be organized into three regiments of militia to defend the colony. This was the birth of the National Guard. Today, the descendants of those first militia regiments are the 181st Infantry Regiment, the 182nd Infantry Regiment, the 101st Field Artillery Regiment, and the 101st Engineer Battalion of the Massachusetts Army National Guard. For 387 years, the National Guard has answered the call to fight, serving in conflicts from the Battles of Lexington and Concord, to Gettysburg, to World War I’s Meuse-Argonne offensive, the D-Day invasion, the 1991 Gulf War, and throughout the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. The National Guard has also answered the call for natural disasters, maybe most notably after Hurricane Katrina when more than 51,000 Guardsmen from across the country quickly deployed to Louisiana and Mississippi to provide humanitarian relief, evacuate residents, and support law enforcement. In 1993, the State Partnership Program was started, pairing the National Guards of U.S. states and territories with military forces from other nations. The first were Maryland with Estonia, Michigan with Latvia, and Pennsylvania with Lithuania. Today, the National Guard has partnerships with 100 countries across five continents. #USArmySignalCorps #Signalcorps #USARMY @US_CYBERCOM @ARCYBER @armyfutures @Signal_School @US_CYBERCOM
